Model: XF4000

Introduction

This user manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your KETELES XF4000 Electric Bike. Please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride and keep it for future reference.

The KETELES XF4000 is an upgraded electric bike designed for adults, featuring dual 1000W motors, dual 23Ah batteries (total 46Ah), 26-inch fat tires, and hydraulic disc brakes, suitable for various terrains including snow, beach, and mountain trails.

Safety Guidelines

  • Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear when riding.
  • Familiarize yourself with local traffic laws and regulations regarding electric bikes.
  • Perform a pre-ride inspection before each use, checking brakes, tires, battery level, and all connections.
  • Do not operate the bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Avoid riding in extreme weather conditions or on excessively slippery surfaces.
  • Ensure the battery is securely locked in place before riding.

Setup and Assembly

Your KETELES XF4000 Electric Bike may require some assembly upon arrival. Follow these general steps:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for potential future transport or returns.
  2. Handlebar Installation: Attach the handlebar to the stem, ensuring all bolts are tightened securely. Adjust the angle for comfortable riding.
  3. Front Wheel Installation: Install the front wheel, ensuring the quick-release skewer or axle nuts are properly secured. Verify the brake rotor is correctly seated in the caliper.
  4. Pedal Installation: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal tightens counter-clockwise, and the right pedal tightens clockwise. Ensure they are fully tightened to prevent stripping.
  5. Seat Post and Saddle: Insert the seat post into the frame and adjust the saddle height for comfortable pedaling, ensuring your leg has a slight bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke. Secure the quick-release lever.
  6. Battery Installation: Insert the battery into its designated compartment and lock it using the provided key. Ensure it clicks into place.
  7. Initial Charge: Fully charge the battery before your first ride. Refer to the "Charging the Battery" section for details.
  8. Pre-Ride Check: Before riding, double-check all connections, brake functionality, tire pressure, and gear shifting.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your electric bike.

  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure before each ride. The 26" x 4.0" fat tires require specific pressure for optimal performance and comfort on different terrains. Refer to the tire sidewall for recommended PSI.
  • Brake Inspection: Regularly inspect brake pads for wear and ensure brake levers provide firm, consistent stopping power. Adjust or replace as needed.
  • Chain Lubrication: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent rust.
  • Bolt Tightness: Periodically check and tighten all bolts and fasteners, especially on the handlebars, seat post, wheels, and motor mounts.
  • Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery and charge it regularly, even when not in use, to prolong its lifespan.
  • Cleaning: Clean the bike with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.
