1. Introduction

The Jura ENA 4 is a compact automatic coffee machine designed for effortless preparation of cafe-quality drinks at home. 4. Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials.
2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, level surface away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation.
3. Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the side of the machine. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the maximum mark. Insert the water tank back into the machine.

4. Bean Container: Open the aroma preservation cover of the bean container. Fill the bean container with fresh coffee beans. Close the cover.

5. Power Connection: Plug the power cable into a suitable power outlet (120 Volts).
6. First Use: Follow the on-screen instructions for initial rinsing and system preparation. This ensures optimal performance and hygiene.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Making Coffee

The Jura ENA 4 offers a user-friendly symbol display for easy navigation and coffee preparation.

1. Turn On: Press the power button on the top of the machine. The machine will perform a brief rinsing cycle.
2. Place Cup: Place a cup under the coffee spout. Adjust the height of the spout to fit your cup.
3. Select Drink: Use the buttons on the control panel to select your desired drink (e.g., Espresso, Coffee). The machine features four programmable presets.

4. Adjust Strength/Volume (Optional): The machine allows for programmable coffee strength and volume. Refer to the on-screen menu for these adjustments.
5. Brewing: The machine will automatically grind the beans (if using whole beans) and brew your coffee. The Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.) ensures optimal flavor extraction.

5.2. Using Pre-Ground Coffee

The ENA 4 also supports pre-ground coffee for added versatility.

1. Open Chute: Open the cover for the ground coffee chute, usually located near the bean container.
2. Add Coffee: Add one level scoop of pre-ground coffee into the chute. Do not overfill.

3. Select Drink: Choose your desired coffee type from the control panel. The machine will use the pre-ground coffee for this brew cycle.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

• Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and clean the drip tray and coffee grounds container regularly. The machine will prompt you when these need emptying.

• Water Tank: Clean the water tank periodically with a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
• Rinsing Program: The machine automatically performs a rinsing cycle when turned on and off.
• Cleaning Program: The machine will indicate when a cleaning program is required. Follow the on-screen instructions and use Jura cleaning tablets.
• Descaling Program: Depending on water hardness, the machine will prompt for descaling. Use Jura descaling tablets and follow the instructions.
