4.1 Front Panel

The front panel of the UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE features eight Gigabit Ethernet ports. Ports 1-4 support 802.3at PoE+ for powering compatible devices. Status LEDs provide visual feedback on power, link/activity, and PoE status for each port.

4.2 Rear Panel

5. Setup

5.1 Hardware Installation

  1. Placement: Choose a suitable location for the switch, ensuring adequate ventilation and proximity to network devices and a power outlet.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power adapter to the 54VDC input port on the rear of the switch, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  3. Network Connections:
    • Connect your network's uplink (e.g., from a router or main switch) to any of the Gigabit Ethernet ports.
    • Connect your network devices (e.g., computers, access points, IP cameras) to the remaining Ethernet ports.
    • For devices requiring Power over Ethernet (PoE), connect them to ports 1-4.

5.2 Software Configuration (UniFi Controller)

The UniFi Switch Lite 8 PoE is managed by the UniFi Network Controller software. Ensure you have the latest version installed and running on a computer or UniFi Cloud Key.

  1. Launch UniFi Controller: Open your UniFi Network Controller. The switch should appear as a pending device in the "Devices" section.
  2. Adopt Device: Click on the switch in the "Devices" list and select "Adopt" to integrate it into your UniFi network.
  3. Configuration: Once adopted, you can configure port settings, VLANs, PoE settings, and monitor device status through the UniFi Controller interface.
