1. Introduction
The Pawfly MC-3000 Ultra Quiet Air Pump is designed to provide efficient oxygenation for various aquatic environments. With a strong output of 254 gallons per hour (GPH) and a low noise level, it is suitable for large ponds, aquariums, and Deep Water Culture (DWC) systems up to 300 gallons. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of your air pump.
2. Safety Instructions
- Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Ensure the pump is placed above the water level to prevent water backflow. If this is not possible, use a check valve (not included) on the airline tubing.
- Do not immerse the air pump in water. This product is for indoor use only.
- Keep the power cord away from heat sources and sharp objects.
- Do not operate the pump if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

5. Setup Instructions
- Placement: Position the air pump on a stable, dry surface above the water level of your aquarium or pond. This prevents water from siphoning back into the pump in case of a power outage. If placing below water level, install a check valve (not included) in the airline tubing.
- Connect Airline Tubing: Attach one end of the provided 6.5-foot airline tubing to the stainless steel air outlet on the pump.
- Connect Air Stone/Diffuser: Connect the other end of the airline tubing to your air stone, air diffuser, or sponge filter (not included).
- Using the Splitter: If using multiple air stones or filters, connect the airline tubing from the pump to the inlet of the 4-outlet copper distributor. Then, connect individual airline tubings from each outlet of the distributor to your air accessories.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (110-120V, 60Hz).

6. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Once connected, the pump will start operating.
- Adjust Airflow: Locate the 'HI' / 'LO' switch on the bottom of the pump. Slide the switch to 'HI' for maximum airflow or 'LO' for reduced airflow, depending on your oxygenation needs.
- Control Multiple Outlets: If using the 4-outlet copper distributor, you can individually open or close each valve to control the air volume to specific accessories.
- Power Off: To turn off the pump, unplug it from the electrical outlet.

7. Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the pump with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Ensure no water enters the pump.
- Check Tubing: Inspect airline tubing regularly for kinks, blockages, or wear. Replace damaged tubing to maintain optimal airflow.
- Air Stone/Diffuser Cleaning: Clean or replace air stones/diffusers as needed to prevent clogging and ensure consistent bubble production.
- Pump Placement: Ensure the rubber feet are intact and properly positioned to continue minimizing vibration and noise.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No air output | Power not connected; tubing kinked or blocked; air stone clogged; pump malfunction. | Check power connection; inspect and clear tubing; clean or replace air stone; contact support if pump is faulty. |
| Low air output | Airflow switch on 'LO'; tubing partially blocked; air stone partially clogged; pump diaphragm wear. | Set switch to 'HI'; clear tubing; clean air stone; consider pump replacement if diaphragm is worn. |
| Excessive noise/vibration | Pump not on a stable surface; rubber feet missing or damaged; internal component issue. | Place pump on a flat, stable surface; check and replace rubber feet if necessary; contact support for internal issues. |
