SANIFLO Sanicompact 4C Dual Flush Macerating Toilet System User Manual

1. Product Overview

The SANIFLO Sanicompact 4C is a self-contained dual-flush macerating toilet system designed for residential applications. This compact unit integrates a vitreous china toilet bowl with a macerator/pump, enabling the installation of a half-bathroom in locations where traditional gravity-fed plumbing is not feasible. It can discharge waste up to 9 feet below the sewer line or up to 120 feet away from a soil stack.

The system is engineered to handle human waste and toilet paper efficiently. Its hardened stainless-steel blade ensures reliable operation without the need for frequent service or replacement. The Sanicompact 4C also features an eco-friendly design, utilizing a minimal amount of water per flush.

2. Setup and Installation

The Sanicompact 4C is designed for floor-mounted installation in residential settings. It requires a 120 Volts (AC) electrical supply for operation.

2.1 Plumbing Connections

  • Waste discharge occurs through a 1-inch rigid pipe. A non-return valve is integrated into the discharge elbow assembly to prevent backflow.
  • The unit can also manage gray water from a sink. Wastewater from a sink drains into a 1-1/4 inch hose connection located at the back of the toilet.

2.2 Pre-Installation Considerations

  • Ensure the installation area has adequate space for the unit's dimensions (refer to Section 5: Specifications).
  • Verify that a dedicated 120V AC electrical outlet is available near the installation site.
  • Consult local plumbing codes to ensure compliance with all regulations.

3. Operating Instructions

The Sanicompact 4C features a dual-flush mechanism for water conservation.

3.1 Flushing Operation

  • To flush, press the flush button located on the unit.
  • The system offers two flush volumes: 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) or 1 gpf, activated by the push button.
  • Pressing the button activates a timer and a solenoid valve, which controls the water fill and bowl wash cycles.

3.2 Macerating Function

The Sanicompact 4C incorporates a macerating system to process waste. Inside the pump, a rotating stainless-steel blade grinds human waste and toilet paper into a fine slurry. This slurry is then quietly pumped away through the discharge pipe to the sanitary line.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your Sanicompact 4C system.

4.1 Cleaning

  • Clean the vitreous china bowl regularly using standard toilet bowl cleaners. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the glossy porcelain finish.
  • For external cleaning, use a soft cloth and mild detergent.

4.2 Preventing Blockages

  • Only human waste and toilet paper should be flushed.
  • Do not flush sanitary products, wet wipes, paper towels, dental floss, cotton balls, or any other non-biodegradable items, as these can cause blockages and damage the macerator.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Sanicompact 4C, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check if the unit is properly plugged into a 120V AC outlet and if the circuit breaker has tripped.
  • Unit Not Flushing: Ensure the water supply valve is open. Check for any obstructions in the bowl or macerator.
  • Unusual Noises: This may indicate a foreign object has entered the macerator. Disconnect power immediately and contact customer support.
  • Leaks: Inspect all plumbing connections for tightness. If leaks persist, contact customer support.
