Setup

Battery Installation:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove any packaging from the included 9V 6F22 dry battery.
  4. Insert the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The device will not power on until the battery is correctly installed and any protective film is removed from the battery terminals.

Operating Instructions

Device Controls:

  • ON/OFF Button:
    • Short press to turn the device on.
    • Long press for 3 seconds to turn the device off.
    • The device will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
  • ℃/℉ Button:
    • Press this button to switch the temperature unit between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).
  • HOLD Button:
    • Press this button to lock the current readings on the display. This is useful for recording data.
    • Press again to release the data lock and resume live readings.

Taking Measurements:

  1. Turn on the device by short pressing the ON/OFF button.
  2. Insert the metal probe into the soil to approximately 2/3 of its length (about 14-15 cm or 5.5-6 inches). Ensure the probe is fully inserted into the root zone for accurate soil readings.
  3. Position the device to face the sun for accurate illumination readings.
  4. Wait a few moments for the readings to stabilize on the display. The display will show soil temperature, air temperature, air humidity, and illumination.
  5. If desired, press the HOLD button to lock the displayed data for easier recording.
  6. After use, gently remove the probe from the soil.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe the metal probe clean with a damp cloth to remove any soil residue. Do not immerse the main body of the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the soil tester in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement: If the display becomes dim or the device does not power on, replace the 9V battery. Ensure proper disposal of old batteries according to local regulations.
  • Avoid Impact: Handle the device with care to prevent damage to the probe or internal components.

Troubleshooting
