The HIDALIFE HL-99 offers convenient keyless access with a digital keypad, suitable for various indoor and outdoor applications. It features multiple user codes, an auto-lock function, and an emergency power option.
2. Safety Information
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the lock yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
- Ensure all components are installed correctly and securely before use.
- Use only recommended AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
- Keep your master code and user codes confidential.
- The exterior knob is splash-proof; however, the interior knob is not waterproof and should be installed indoors.

5. Installation
Installation requires only a Phillips head screwdriver. Follow these steps for proper setup.
5.1. Pre-installation Preparation
The door lock needs to be taken apart before installation. Remove the two screws from the interior knob to complete the disassembly.

5.2. Check Door Dimensions
Ensure your door meets the following specifications:
- Door Hole Diameter: 2-1/8 inches (54mm)
- Door Thickness: 1-3/10 inches to 2-1/10 inches (33mm to 54mm)
- Backset: Adjustable to 2-3/8 inches (60mm) or 2-3/4 inches (70mm)
- Latch Hole: Rectangular latch hole is required.

5.3. Adjust Latch Length (if necessary)
If your door's backset is 2-3/4 inches (70mm), extend the latch. For a 2-3/8 inch (60mm) backset, install the latch directly.

5.4. Install the Latch and Knobs
- Insert the latch assembly into the door edge and secure it with two screws. Do not fully tighten the screws until the entire knob is installed to allow for minor adjustments.
- Feed the wire from the exterior keypad knob through the latch mechanism and into the door hole.
- Position the exterior keypad knob on the outside of the door, ensuring the spindle aligns with the latch.
- From the interior side, connect the wire from the exterior knob to the interior knob's battery box connector.
- Align the interior knob with the exterior knob and secure it with the two long screws. Ensure the knobs are flush and operate smoothly.
5.5. Install Batteries
The battery box requires 4 AAA alkaline batteries (not included). There are two battery slots on each side of the battery box. Ensure correct polarity.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Default Master Code
The default master code is 0123. It is highly recommended to change this code immediately after installation for security purposes.
6.2. Changing the Master Code
- Press the 'SET' button on the interior knob.
- Enter the current Master Code (default: 0123), then press '#'.
- Enter the new Master Code (4-15 digits), then press '#'.
- Re-enter the new Master Code, then press '#'.
- A successful change will be indicated by a beep.
6.3. Adding User Codes
You can add up to 9 access codes (4-15 digits each).

- Press the 'SET' button.
- Enter the Master Code, then press '#'.
- Press '1', then '#'.
- Enter the new User Code (4-15 digits), then press '#'.
- Re-enter the new User Code, then press '#'.
- A successful addition will be indicated by a beep.
6.4. Deleting User Codes
- Press the 'SET' button.
- Enter the Master Code, then press '#'.
- Press '2', then '#'.
- Enter the User Code to be deleted, then press '#'.
- A successful deletion will be indicated by a beep.
6.5. Unlocking the Door
Enter a valid User Code or Master Code, then press '#'. The knob will unlock, allowing you to turn it and open the door.
6.6. Auto-Lock Function
The lock features an auto-lock function that automatically re-locks the door after 5 seconds of unlocking. This ensures security even if you forget to manually lock it.

6.7. Mute Function
Activate the mute function to prevent others from hearing your code entries, enhancing privacy and security.

6.8. One-Digit Access Mode
When One-Digit Access Mode is set, you can unlock the door by pressing any key. This mode is typically used for temporary, less secure access.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Battery Replacement
The lock will indicate a low battery status with an alarm. Replace all 4 AAA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Refer to Section 5.5 for battery installation.

7.2. Cleaning
Clean the lock with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish or electronic components.
8. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check if batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient power. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Code not working: Ensure the correct code is entered, followed by '#'. Verify that the code has not been accidentally deleted or changed.
- Knob not turning after code entry: Check for any obstructions in the latch mechanism. Ensure the spindle is correctly engaged with the latch.
- Difficulty installing: Review the installation video and door dimension requirements. Ensure the latch is correctly adjusted for your door's backset.
- Emergency Power Supply not working: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the battery pack (with working batteries) and the exterior knob's emergency port.
