This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your product. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

  • Ensure all components are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Disconnect power from your computer before installation or maintenance.
  • Avoid bending the tubes excessively, as this may compromise the liquid circulation or cause leaks.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are secure and correctly oriented. Incorrect wiring, especially for RGB cables, can lead to component damage or fire hazards.
  • Keep the product away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Do not open the pump or radiator, as this will void the warranty and may cause leaks.

4. Setup and Installation

This section guides you through the installation process. Ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged before proceeding.

4.1 Prepare the CPU Socket

Clean the CPU surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue. If thermal paste is not pre-applied to the cold plate, apply a small pea-sized amount to the center of your CPU.

4.2 Radiator and Fan Installation

  1. Attach the two 120mm ARGB PWM fans to the radiator using the provided screws. Ensure the fan airflow direction is appropriate for your case (typically exhausting air out or drawing air in).
  2. Mount the radiator assembly to an available 240mm fan mount in your PC case (e.g., top, front, or rear). Use the longer screws provided to secure the radiator and fans to the case.

4.3 Cold Plate Installation

The SAMA SI240 supports a wide range of Intel and AMD sockets. Follow the specific instructions for your CPU platform.

4.3.1 Intel Socket Installation (LGA 1700, 1200, 2066, 2011, 1366, 1151, 1150, 1156, 1155)

  1. Install the appropriate Intel backplate (if provided and necessary for your socket) behind the motherboard, aligning the screw holes.
  2. Screw in the four standoffs from the front side of the motherboard into the backplate.
  3. Place the cold plate onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes with the standoffs.
  4. Secure the cold plate by tightening the four thumb screws onto the standoffs in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.

4.3.2 AMD Socket Installation (AM5, AM4, AM3+, AM3, AM2+, AM2)

Important Note for AM4/AM5 Users:

For AM4/AM5 sockets, you must use the original plastic mounting clips that came with your motherboard. Attach the two metal brackets provided with the SAMA SI240 AIO to these motherboard mounting clips. The backplate provided with the AIO is generally not used for AM4/AM5 installations; rely on your motherboard's existing backplate and clips.

  1. Ensure the original AMD backplate is installed on your motherboard.
  2. Attach the two AMD mounting brackets to the sides of the cold plate.
  3. Hook one side of the cold plate's mounting bracket onto the motherboard's plastic retention clip.
  4. Press down on the other side of the cold plate and hook it onto the second plastic retention clip. Ensure the cold plate is firmly seated and makes good contact with the CPU.

4.4 Cable Connections

Connect all cables to the motherboard and the included ARGB & PWM control unit.

  • Pump Power: Connect the pump's 3-pin connector to a dedicated AIO_PUMP or CPU_FAN header on your motherboard.
  • Fan Power: Connect the 4-pin PWM fan cables from both fans to the ARGB & PWM control unit. Then, connect the control unit's PWM cable to a CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN header on your motherboard.
  • ARGB Lighting: Connect the 3-pin ARGB cables from the pump and fans to the ARGB & PWM control unit. Then, connect the control unit's ARGB cable to a 5V 3-pin Addressable RGB header on your motherboard. Do NOT connect to a 12V 4-pin RGB header, as this will damage the LEDs.
  • Control Unit Power: Connect the SATA power connector from the ARGB & PWM control unit to your power supply.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the SAMA SI240 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler operates automatically based on your motherboard's settings.

5.1 Fan Control (PWM)

The dual PWM fans automatically adjust their speed based on CPU temperature, as detected by your motherboard. You can typically configure fan curves in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or through manufacturer-provided software to optimize for cooling performance or noise levels.

5.2 ARGB Lighting Control

The Addressable RGB lighting on the pump head and fans can be controlled via your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync). Ensure your motherboard's ARGB header is connected to the control unit for synchronization. The infinity design on the cooling head and smooth light effect tubes offer a wide range of customizable lighting effects.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your SAMA SI240 AIO cooler.

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air. Ensure the fans are not spinning during cleaning to prevent damage.
  • Tube Inspection: Regularly check the tubes for any signs of kinks, cracks, or leaks. The polymer woven mesh tubes are designed for durability and zero leakage, but visual inspection is recommended.
  • Cold Plate Contact: Ensure the cold plate maintains good contact with the CPU. If temperatures rise unexpectedly, re-seating the cold plate with fresh thermal paste may be necessary.
  • No Refilling: The AIO unit is a closed-loop system and does not require coolant refilling. Attempting to open the unit will void the warranty and may cause damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SAMA SI240 cooler, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
