2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD).
  • Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 310 kg (683 lbs) or the maximum number of persons (3 adults).
  • Never operate the boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Be aware of weather conditions and water currents. Do not use in rough waters, strong currents, or during storms.
  • Always check the boat for damage and proper inflation before each use.
  • Keep away from sharp objects and abrasive surfaces.
  • Children should always be supervised by an adult.
  • Familiarize yourself with local boating regulations.

3. Setup and Inflation

The Caravelle™ K105 features Boston valves for quick and easy inflation and deflation. Ensure the boat is on a clean, flat surface before beginning inflation.

  1. Unfold the Boat: Carefully unroll and unfold the boat on a smooth, clean surface, free of sharp objects.
  2. Identify Air Chambers: The boat has four independent air chambers: 1 main chamber, 1 safety chamber, and 2 bottom chambers. Locate all Boston valves.
  3. Inflate Chambers:
    • Open the outer cap of the Boston valve.
    • Insert the pump hose into the valve.
    • Inflate each chamber sequentially until firm to the touch but not hard. Do not overinflate. The integrated pressure indicator helps monitor pressure.
    • Close the inner cap, then the outer cap, ensuring a tight seal.
  4. Inflate Floor (if applicable): If your model includes an inflatable floor, inflate it last.
  5. Attach Oars/Paddles: Secure oars or paddles into the designated brackets.

Carry the inflated boat to the water's edge. Avoid dragging it over rough surfaces. Gently place the boat into the water.

4.4 Landing

Approach the shore slowly. Avoid sharp objects or rocks. Once ashore, carefully lift the boat out of the water.

5. Maintenance and Storage

5.1 Cleaning

After each use, rinse the boat thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and dirt. Use mild soap and water for stubborn stains. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow the boat to dry completely before deflating and storing.

5.2 Deflation

Open all Boston valves. The boat will deflate quickly. You can gently roll the boat from one end to the other to expel remaining air.

5.3 Storage

Store the deflated and dry boat in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid folding it too tightly or placing heavy objects on top of it, which could cause creases or damage.

5.4 Repairs

Small punctures can often be repaired using a PVC repair kit (sold separately). Follow the repair kit instructions carefully. For larger damage, professional repair may be necessary.
