2. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your vacuum cleaner and prepare it for first use.
2.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Verify that all listed components are present: Main Vacuum Unit, Extension Wand, Motorized Floor Brush, Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, Accessory Storage Holder, Mini Cleaning Brush, HEPA Filter, Sponge Filter, 5-Hole Filter, Power Adapter, User Guide.
2.2 Assembly Steps
- Attach the Extension Wand: Align the electrical contacts of the extension wand with the main vacuum unit and push until it clicks into place.
- Attach the Floor Brush: Align the electrical contacts of the motorized floor brush with the bottom of the extension wand and push until it clicks.
- Install Filters: Ensure the HEPA filter, sponge filter, and 5-hole filter are correctly installed in the dustbin assembly. Refer to the maintenance section for filter placement.
- Initial Charging: Before first use, fully charge the vacuum cleaner. Connect the power adapter to the charging port on the main unit and plug it into a wall outlet. The LED display will indicate charging status. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours.
3. Operating Instructions
Learn how to effectively use your HOMPANY SmartVac 12 for various cleaning tasks.
3.1 Powering On/Off and Suction Modes
- Power On: Press the power button on the handle to turn on the vacuum.
- Change Suction Mode: Use the mode selection button on the LED display to cycle through the 3 suction modes: MIN (low), MID (medium), and MAX (high).
- Power Off: Press the power button again to turn off the vacuum.

3.2 Cleaning Different Surfaces
- Hard Floors: Use MIN or MID mode for daily cleaning of hard floors like wood, tile, and laminate. The soft velvet roller brush is gentle on surfaces.
- Carpets and Rugs: For short-pile carpets, use MID or MAX mode. The powerful suction and motorized brush effectively lift embedded dirt and pet hair.
- Pet Hair: The MAX suction mode combined with the specialized brush roll is highly effective for picking up pet hair from various surfaces.

3.3 Self-Standing Design
The SmartVac 12 features a convenient self-standing design, allowing you to pause cleaning and stand the vacuum upright anywhere without needing a wall mount or leaning it against furniture. This design also simplifies storage.

4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.
4.1 Emptying the Dustbin
- When the dustbin is full, or suction power decreases, empty the dustbin.
- Press the one-click release button on the dustbin to open the bottom flap and empty contents into a trash can.
- The dustbin has a capacity of 1.2 liters.
4.2 Cleaning the Filtration System
The SmartVac 12 features a 5-hole, 5-layer high-efficiency filtration system. Regular cleaning of these filters is crucial.

- Disassembly: Twist and pull to remove the dustbin from the main unit. Then, carefully remove the HEPA filter, sponge filter, and 5-hole filter components.
- Washing: Rinse the filters under running water until clean. Do not use detergents.
- Drying: Allow all filter components to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling. Ensure they are bone dry to prevent mold and maintain suction.
- Reassembly: Reinsert the filters in the correct order and reattach the dustbin to the main unit.
4.3 Cleaning the Brush Roll
- Periodically check the motorized floor brush for tangled hair or debris.
- To remove the brush roll, locate the release tab on the side of the brush head and open the cover.
- Carefully pull out the brush roll. Use the included mini cleaning brush or scissors to remove any tangled hair or fibers.
- Reinsert the brush roll and close the cover until it clicks into place.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your vacuum cleaner, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
