4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the oven and all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Stone Placement: Ensure the 360-degree rotating pizza stone is correctly seated within the oven. If there is a visible gap at the front of the stone, use the included stone adjustment tool to hook the back of the stone and pull it forward until it is flush.
  3. Positioning: Place the oven on a stable, level, and non-combustible outdoor surface. Ensure all safety clearances mentioned in Section 2 are met. If using on a windy day, orient the oven so the mouth faces away from the wind.
  4. Gas Connection:
    • Pull the collar back on the gas hose connector and firmly attach the hose onto the gas inlet on the oven.
    • Attach the regulator to your propane gas tank. Ensure all connections are tight. (Note: Gas connection types may vary by country. Refer to local regulations.)
  5. Ignitor Batteries: For the ignitor batteries, remove the thermometer from the front of the oven. Unscrew the cap and place the battery in the correct way round, before screwing the cap back into position.
  6. Digital Temperature Display Connection: To connect the digital temperature display to the thermometer, locate the jack connection in the display port and plug into the rear of the display. Finally, replace the digital temperature display and turn on to test.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Preheating:
    • To light the gas burner, press the control dial in and turn the dial 90° until you hear a clicking sound and the burner ignites.
    • Hold the control dial in for up to 30 seconds after the burner ignites. Holding this position allows the flame failure device to heat up to temperature.
    • Allow the oven to preheat to 500 °C (950 °F). This typically takes less than 15 minutes due to the booster burner and innovative U-shaped burners.
    • For your first firing, it is highly recommended to put the burner on a medium to low flame for 30 minutes.
  2. Cooking Pizza:
    • Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, carefully slide your pizza onto the rotating stone using a pizza peel.
    • The 360-degree rotating stone will ensure your pizza cooks evenly, providing a perfect leopard-spotted and crispy crust without the need for manual rotation.
    • Pizzas will cook very quickly, often in less than a minute. Monitor closely to prevent overcooking.
    • Adjust the flame intensity using the control knob if the pizza is cooking too fast on top or not enough on the bottom.

6. Maintenance

  1. Cool Down: Always allow the oven to cool down completely before attempting any cleaning or maintenance. The cool-down time can vary but typically takes approximately one and a half hours. Never touch the surface or stone before it has cooled down.
  2. Cleaning the Pizza Stone: Once completely cool, the pizza stone can be cleaned with water and a cloth. Do not use a polypropylene brush on a hot stone, as it can melt and damage the stone.
  3. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  4. Storage: When not in use, especially during adverse weather conditions, it is recommended to cover the oven with a suitable protective cover to prolong its lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Burner Fails to Ignite: If the burner fails to ignite, wait 5 minutes before trying again. If it continues to fail, please review the detailed troubleshooting guide in the full user manual or contact customer support.
  • Pizza Stone Not Heating Evenly: Ensure both the U-shaped main burner and the booster burner are functioning correctly. Verify that the gas supply is adequate and that the oven has been allowed sufficient time to preheat to the target temperature.
  • Pizza Bottom Not Cooked / Top Burned: This often indicates the pizza stone is not hot enough, or the flame intensity is too high. Ensure the oven is fully preheated to 500 °C (950 °F) before cooking. Adjust the flame to a lower setting once the pizza is inserted to allow the bottom to cook without burning the top.
