4.2 Installation Steps
It is recommended to have this system installed by a professional plumber. Ensure all local plumbing codes are followed.

Figure 4.1: Detailed view of the brass valve body connections. This image highlights the NPT 1/2" connections for hot water, cold water, fixed shower head, and handheld shower.
- Prepare the Wall: Ensure the wall cavity is ready for the rough-in valve body. The valve body requires an embedded depth of approximately 2.75 inches.
- Install the Rough-in Valve Body: Secure the brass valve body (4) to the wall studs using appropriate fasteners. Ensure it is level and at the desired height. Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding NPT 1/2" connectors on the valve body. Apply pipe thread sealant tape to all threaded connections to prevent leaks.
- Connect Shower Outlets: Connect the NPT 1/2" outlet for the fixed shower head to the plumbing leading to the shower arm. Connect the NPT 1/2" outlet for the handheld shower to the plumbing leading to the handheld holder.
- Test for Leaks: Before closing the wall, turn on the main water supply and check all connections for leaks. Address any leaks immediately.
- Install Wall Tile/Finishing: Once the valve body is securely installed and leak-free, finish the wall with tile or other desired material. Ensure the opening for the valve trim is correctly sized.
- Install the Control Panel and Handle: Attach the control panel (5) over the valve body. Install the diverter knob (6) and the shower handle (7) according to the manufacturer's instructions, ensuring they operate smoothly.
- Install Shower Arm and Head: Thread the shower bar (2) into the fixed shower head connector in the wall. Ensure it is securely tightened and sealed. Attach the 20 cm square shower head (3) to the shower bar.
- Install Handheld Shower Components: Mount the handheld holder (9) at a convenient height on the wall. Connect one end of the stainless steel hose (11) to the handheld shower (10) and the other end to the wall outlet for the handheld shower. Place the handheld shower into its holder.

Figure 4.2: Installation dimension reference. This diagram provides general guidelines for positioning the shower components, including the distance from the wall and recommended heights for the shower head and handheld unit. Actual installation should be based on user requirements and local codes.
5. Operation
Your Fransiton shower system is designed for ease of use and a comfortable showering experience.
- Water Flow and Temperature Control: The main shower handle (7) controls both water flow and temperature. Rotate the handle to adjust the temperature (typically counter-clockwise for hotter, clockwise for colder) and pull it outwards to increase flow.
- Diverter Function: The diverter knob (6) allows you to switch between the fixed rain shower head and the handheld shower. Turn the knob to select your desired water outlet.
- Air Injection Technology: The rain shower head utilizes innovative air injection technology to mix water with air, increasing water pressure and simulating a natural rain experience, even in low water pressure installations.

6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your shower system.
- Cleaning Surfaces: Clean the matte black finish with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Cleaning Nozzles: The shower heads feature self-cleaning silicone nozzles. Periodically rub the nozzles with your finger to dislodge any mineral buildup or debris.
- Hard Water Areas: In areas with hard water, more frequent cleaning may be required to prevent mineral deposits. A solution of white vinegar and water can be used for stubborn buildup, but always test on an inconspicuous area first and rinse thoroughly.
- Valve Maintenance: The pressure-balanced brass valve is designed for durability. If you experience issues with temperature regulation, consult a professional plumber.
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low water pressure | Clogged shower head nozzles; partially closed shut-off valve; low household water pressure. | Clean shower head nozzles by rubbing them. Ensure shut-off valves are fully open. Consult a plumber if household water pressure is consistently low. |
| Water leaks from connections | Loose connections; insufficient pipe thread sealant tape. | Turn off water supply. Tighten connections. Reapply pipe thread sealant tape if necessary. |
| Water temperature fluctuates | Pressure imbalance in hot/cold water supply; faulty pressure-balanced valve. | Ensure consistent water pressure from your household supply. If the problem persists, the valve may require professional inspection or replacement. |
| Diverter not switching properly | Debris in diverter mechanism; worn diverter cartridge. | Flush the system. If the issue continues, the diverter cartridge may need to be replaced by a professional. |
