Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. The unit is designed for easy portability and comes with a window kit for exhaust air removal.

1. Positioning the Unit

Place the air conditioner on a flat, stable surface near a window. Ensure there is at least 30 cm (12 inches) of clear space around the unit for proper airflow.

2. Installing the Window Kit

The window kit allows for efficient exhaust of hot air. There are typically two main setup options:

Diagram showing two window setup options for the exhaust hose. Option 1 shows the hose exiting through a partially open window with a window outlet. Option 2 shows the hose connected to a window bracket installed in a sliding window.

Figure 3: Window Kit Setup Options.

  1. Option 1 (Sliding Window): Extend the window bracket to fit your window opening. Secure the exhaust hose to the bracket and the unit. Close the window against the bracket to seal the opening.
  2. Option 2 (Casement Window or Wall Outlet): Attach the window outlet adapter to the exhaust hose. Position the hose through a slightly open window or a pre-installed wall outlet. Ensure the opening is sealed as much as possible to prevent hot air re-entry.

Connect the air exhaust hose to the rear of the unit by twisting it into place. Extend the hose to the window kit, ensuring it is not kinked or bent sharply, which can restrict airflow.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your air conditioner.

1. Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every two weeks) to maintain cooling efficiency. A dirty filter can reduce airflow and performance.

  1. Unplug the appliance from the power outlet.
  2. Locate and remove the air filter (refer to your unit's specific design for filter access).
  3. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
  4. Allow the filter to dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.

2. Draining Condensed Water

During dehumidification or in very humid conditions, water will collect inside the unit. The unit has an automatic evaporation system, but manual draining may be necessary if the water tank becomes full (indicated by an error code or indicator light).

  1. Unplug the appliance.
  2. Place a shallow pan or container under the drain outlet at the bottom rear of the unit.
  3. Remove the drain plug and allow all water to drain out.
  4. Replace the drain plug securely.

3. Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is completely drained and the filter is clean. Store it upright in a dry, cool place, covered to protect from dust.
