Setup Guide

Initial Power-Up and Battery Installation

To power the clock, plug in the provided power cord. For backup power, install 3 AAA batteries (not included) into the main unit and 2 AAA batteries (not included) into the wireless outdoor sensor. This ensures continuous operation during power outages.

Atomic Time Synchronization

The clock automatically synchronizes with the WWVB radio broadcast from Fort Collins, Colorado, ensuring accurate time to within one second. Signal reception is typically better at night and during clear weather conditions. Initial synchronization may take 2 to 5 days. It is recommended to manually set the time and date after powering on the display for immediate use while waiting for the atomic signal.

During signal reception, the clock's backlight may temporarily turn off, and buttons will be unresponsive for 1-2 minutes to prevent interference. Once the signal is successfully received, the clock will automatically synchronize, and normal operation will resume.

Outdoor Sensor Placement

For optimal performance and accurate outdoor temperature readings, place the wireless outdoor sensor in a suitable location. The sensor has a range of up to 200 feet (60 meters) in an open area.

  • Place at 1.2 to 2.4 meters (approximately 4 to 8 feet) above the ground with permanent shade.
  • Keep at least 1.5 to 2 meters (approximately 5 to 6.5 feet) away from electronic devices such as TVs, computers, microwaves, and radios to avoid interference.
  • Avoid placing units near heat sources or vents.
  • Place the outdoor sensor vertically.

Operating Instructions

Display Features

The 8.8-inch LCD TN high-definition slim display simultaneously shows the date, time (12/24H format), day of the week, moon phase, and indoor/outdoor temperature (switchable between °C/°F). It also records daily minimum and maximum temperature data and displays temperature trends. The large digits ensure easy viewing.

Adjusting Backlight Brightness

To adjust the clock's brightness (Off - Dim - Bright), touch the top button on the clock. If you desire the backlight to remain on continuously, ensure the power cord is plugged in.

Temperature Monitoring

The wireless outdoor sensor transmits outdoor temperature readings to the main display. This allows you to monitor outdoor conditions from inside your home, patio, backyard, garden, or courtyard.

Alarm and Snooze Function

The clock functions as an alarm clock with a gradually ascending "beeping" sound. To activate the snooze function for an additional 5-minute nap, press the "SNOOZE" button when the alarm sounds. The alarm will sound for 2 minutes; if no action is taken, it will stop automatically.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Geevon Atomic Wall Clock, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the clock and sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the display or casing.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always use fresh batteries of the specified type (AAA).
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the clock to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or high humidity, which can affect accuracy and lifespan.
  • Storage: If storing the clock for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Clock not synchronizing with atomic time.Weak WWVB signal due to location, weather, or interference.
  • Ensure the clock is placed away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Try relocating the clock to a different area, preferably near a window, especially at night.
  • Allow 2-5 days for initial synchronization.
  • Manually set the time and date if immediate accuracy is needed.
Outdoor temperature not displayed or inaccurate.Outdoor sensor out of range, low battery, or interference.
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor is within 200 feet (60 meters) of the main unit.
  • Replace batteries in the outdoor sensor.
  • Verify the sensor is placed according to the guidelines in the Setup Guide (shaded, away from electronics/heat sources).
  • Re-sync the sensor with the main unit if necessary (refer to specific instructions in the full manual if available).
Buttons are unresponsive.Clock is currently receiving atomic signal, or a temporary software glitch.
  • Wait 1-2 minutes for the atomic signal reception process to complete.
  • If the issue persists, unplug the power cord and remove batteries for a few minutes, then re-power the unit.
Display is dim or not lit.Backlight setting is off/dim, or power cord is not connected.
  • Touch the top button to cycle through brightness levels (Off - Dim - Bright).
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in for continuous backlight.
  • Check battery levels if operating on battery power.
