4. Getting Started & Initial Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Align the 2100mAh extended battery with the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery upwards until it clicks securely into place.

4.2 Antenna Attachment
- Screw the GMRS-771 antenna clockwise into the antenna connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

4.3 Charging the Radio
The GM-15 Pro offers two charging methods:
- USB-C Charging: Connect the provided USB-C cable to the port on the battery pack (located on the back of the radio) and to a power source (power bank, PC, car, wall adapter, laptop).
- Desktop Charger: Place the radio with the battery installed into the desktop charging cradle. Ensure the charging contacts align.

4.4 Belt Clip Installation
- Locate the two small screws on the back of the radio, above the battery.
- Remove these screws using a suitable screwdriver.
- Position the belt clip over the screw holes and reinsert the screws, tightening them securely.
5. Basic Operation
5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control
- To power on the radio, rotate the top-right knob clockwise until you hear a click. The display will illuminate.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
- Adjust the volume by rotating the same knob clockwise (increase) or counter-clockwise (decrease).
5.2 Channel Selection
The GM-15 Pro features a keypad for direct frequency input and menu navigation.
- GMRS Channels: Use the keypad to directly enter GMRS channel numbers (1-22) or repeater channels (23-30).
- NOAA Channels: Access NOAA weather channels through the menu system.
- UHF/VHF Channels: Use the VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode to input specific UHF/VHF frequencies or select from programmed memory channels.
5.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Button
The large button on the left side of the radio is the PTT button. Press and hold this button to transmit your voice. Release it to stop transmitting and listen for incoming calls.

6.1 GMRS Repeater Capability
The GM-15 Pro supports GMRS repeaters to extend your communication range. It includes 24 customizable repeater channels. Programming repeater offsets and CTCSS/DCS tones can be done via the keypad menu or PC software.
