2. Getting Started: Initial Setup

Follow these steps to set up your new Surface Laptop Go 3 for the first time.

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the laptop and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure you have the Surface Laptop Go 3, Surface Power Supply, and included documentation.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the Surface Power Supply into a wall outlet and connect the magnetic charging connector to the Surface Connect port on the right side of your laptop. The battery icon on the screen will indicate charging status.
  3. Power On: Press the Fingerprint Power Button located on the top right of the keyboard. The laptop will power on and begin the Windows 11 setup process.
  4. Windows Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Windows 11 setup. This includes selecting your region and language, connecting to a Wi-Fi network, accepting the license agreement, and creating or signing in with a Microsoft account.
