Introduction

The Farpoint Rechargeable 1,000 Lumen Emergency Lantern is designed for versatile illumination in various settings, including outdoor activities, camping, and emergency situations. It features a 360° COB LED design for comprehensive lighting and offers five selectable lighting modes. Constructed to be weather and impact-resistant, this lantern is durable for demanding environments. Its internal 1200mAh battery provides up to 9 hours of light and can also function as a power bank to charge mobile phones and other devices via its integrated USB and USB-C ports. For convenience, it includes a carrying handle and a folding hanging hook. A USB to USB-C charging cable is supplied and can be stored within the unit's base.

Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the lantern's internal battery. This ensures optimal performance and battery longevity.

  1. Locate the USB and USB-C charging ports on the lantern. The charging cable is stored in the base of the unit.
  2. Connect the smaller end of the included USB to USB-C charging cable to the USB-C input port on the lantern.
  3. Connect the standard USB-A end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port, power bank).
  4. The charging indicator light (if present) will illuminate to show charging is in progress. Refer to the lantern's specific indicator behavior for full charge notification.
  5. Once fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

Note: The lantern's internal 1200mAh Lithium-Ion battery is designed for long-lasting power. Regular charging helps maintain its health.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off and Light Modes

The lantern features a single power button to control its functions.

  1. To Power On: Press the power button once. The lantern will typically turn on in its default mode (e.g., High).
  2. To Cycle Through Modes: Press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the available lighting modes:
    • High (1,000 lumens): Maximum brightness for extensive illumination. Run time: 3 hours.
    • Medium (300 lumens): Balanced brightness for general use. Run time: 6 hours.
    • Low (100 lumens): Energy-efficient light for extended use. Run time: 9 hours.
    • Night Light (100 lumens): A softer, warm white light ideal for ambient illumination. Run time: 9 hours.
    • Dimming: Allows for continuous adjustment of brightness from high to low.
  3. To Power Off: Continue pressing the power button until the lantern turns off, or press and hold the button for a few seconds from any mode.

Power Bank Functionality

The lantern can be used to charge other small electronic devices, such as cell phones, using its USB output port.

  1. Ensure the lantern has sufficient charge.
  2. Connect your device's charging cable to the USB-A output port on the lantern.
  3. Connect the other end of your device's charging cable to your device.
  4. Charging should begin automatically.

Note: Using the power bank feature will consume the lantern's battery, reducing its illumination run time.

Carrying and Hanging

The lantern is equipped with a convenient carrying handle for portability and a folding hanging hook for versatile placement.

  • Use the sturdy top handle for easy transport.
  • Unfold the integrated hook from the base of the handle to hang the lantern from tents, branches, or other suitable fixtures.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your lantern:

  • Wipe the exterior of the lantern with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Ensure all ports are dry before charging or using the power bank function.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods:

  • Store the lantern in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • It is advisable to charge the battery every 3-6 months to prevent deep discharge and prolong battery life.
