Setup
1. Charging the Device
Before first use, fully charge the detector pen. The device features a built-in rechargeable battery. Use the provided USB cable to connect the detector to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
- A full charge takes approximately 1 hour.
- The charge indicator light will provide feedback on the charging status.
- Once fully charged, the device offers up to 25 hours of continuous use or 30 days in standby mode.

2. Initial Inspection
Familiarize yourself with the device components. The pen itself is functional for writing. The detection module attaches to the top. Identify the function key and indicator lights on the side of the pen.
Operating Instructions
The X16 detector pen offers three primary detection functions:
1. Wireless Signal Detection (Bug Detector)
This mode detects RF signals from wireless listening devices, hidden cameras, and other transmitting bugs within a range of 1MHz-6.5GHz.
- Activation: Press the function key to activate the device.
- Sensitivity Adjustment: The device has 5 levels of sensitivity. Adjust the sensitivity using the toggle switches to narrow down the detection area. Higher sensitivity covers a wider area, while lower sensitivity helps pinpoint the exact location of a signal source.
- Detection: Slowly sweep the area you wish to inspect. The indicator lights on the side of the pen will illuminate, and an audible alarm may sound (depending on alarm mode settings) when a signal is detected. The more lights that illuminate, the stronger the signal, indicating closer proximity to the bug.

2. Hidden Camera Detection (Infrared Scanning)
This function uses infrared scanning to locate hidden cameras, including pinhole cameras and those with invisible wire traps.
- Activation: Attach the detection module to the pen. Activate the infrared scanning function via the function key. The LED lights around the viewfinder will illuminate.
- Scanning: Look through the viewfinder and slowly scan the area. Hidden camera lenses will appear as bright red dots or reflections when illuminated by the infrared LEDs.
- Target Areas: Pay close attention to common hiding spots such as smoke detectors, air vents, electrical outlets, picture frames, and furniture.

3. GPS Tracker Detection (Magnetic Detection)
This mode is specifically designed to detect strong magnetic fields, commonly used by GPS trackers for attachment to vehicles or other metal surfaces.
- Activation: Activate the magnetic detection function.
- Scanning: Move the pen close to areas where GPS trackers might be hidden, such as under vehicles, inside wheel wells, or attached to metal objects. The device will alert you with a sound or light when a strong magnetic field is detected.

Alarm Modes
The detector pen offers two alarm modes to notify you of detected signals or magnetic fields:
- Sound Alert: An audible beep will indicate detection.
- Light Alert: The indicator lights on the side of the pen will illuminate.
Refer to the user manual for specific instructions on how to switch between these alarm modes.

Figure 9: The detector can find various hidden devices including GPS tracking, watch cameras, hidden cameras, bulb cameras, socket cameras, air conditioning cameras, in-ear bugs, car charger wiretaps, USB flash drive bugs, and eavesdropping devices.
Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Store the detector in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not turn on. | Low battery; Device malfunction. | Ensure the device is fully charged. If it still doesn't turn on after charging, contact customer support. |
| Poor detection sensitivity. | Incorrect sensitivity setting; Environmental interference. | Adjust sensitivity levels. Move to an area with less electronic interference. Ensure proper scanning technique. |
| False alarms. | High sensitivity setting; Presence of legitimate electronic devices. | Lower the sensitivity. Identify and move away from common electronic devices (Wi-Fi routers, cell phones, microwaves) that might emit similar frequencies. |
