ORDRO LN-5

ORDRO LN-5 Infrared Night Vision Light Instruction Manual

Model: LN-5

1. Introduction

The ORDRO LN-5 Infrared Night Vision Light is designed to provide supplementary infrared illumination for cameras and camcorders in low-light or dark environments. This device enhances visibility for capturing photos or videos where insufficient ambient light is present. It is particularly useful for night photography, videography, and surveillance applications.

2. Safety Information

  • Heat Generation: The infrared LEDs generate heat during operation. While not typically a burn risk, ensure adequate ventilation and avoid covering the device to prevent overheating.
  • Eye Safety: Do not stare directly into the infrared LEDs when the device is active. Although infrared light is not visible to the human eye, prolonged direct exposure may be harmful.
  • Water Resistance: This device is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to rain, splashes, or submersion in water.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the specified charging method. Do not attempt to disassemble or replace the built-in lithium-polymer battery.

5.2 Mounting the Light

The ORDRO LN-5 offers versatile mounting options:

  • Cold Shoe Mount: Attach the device directly to a camera or camcorder equipped with a standard cold shoe accessory mount.
  • 1/4-inch Screw Hole: Use the 1/4-inch screw hole at the bottom to mount the light onto tripods, light stands, or other accessories with a compatible screw.
  • Multiple Lights: The cold shoe interface also allows for the assembly of multiple night vision lights in series for increased illumination.

Important Note: This infrared light is designed to work with cameras that have built-in IR (Infrared) functions or night vision capabilities. The camera itself must be able to detect infrared light for the LN-5 to be effective.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the back of the device to turn the light on or off. The indicator lights will illuminate when the device is active.

6.2 Adjusting Brightness

Rotate the brightness adjustment dial on the back of the unit to increase or decrease the intensity of the infrared light. Adjust the brightness according to your shooting environment and camera's night vision sensitivity.

6.3 Usage Scenarios

The ORDRO LN-5 is suitable for various applications requiring enhanced night vision:

  • Outdoor Shooting: Provides wide coverage to illuminate a broader range in dark outdoor settings.
  • Hunting/Wildlife Observation: Infrared light is not easily perceived by animals, allowing for discreet observation and recording without startling them.
  • Night Investigations: Ideal for exploring dark areas or conducting surveillance.
  • Farm Animal Supervision: Can be used with an external power supply for continuous illumination in agricultural settings.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface or internal components.

7.2 Storage

Store the ORDRO LN-5 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem: The light is on, but my camera does not show a brighter image.
Solution: Ensure your camera or camcorder has an active infrared (IR) night vision function. The ORDRO LN-5 provides IR illumination, but your camera must be capable of detecting and processing infrared light to utilize it. Check your camera's settings or manual for IR night vision activation.
Problem: The light does not turn on.
Solution: Check the battery level. Connect the device to a USB-C charger and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again. If the issue persists, ensure the charging cable and power source are functional.
Problem: Short battery life.
Solution: Battery life is approximately 90 minutes at maximum brightness. Reduce the brightness setting to extend operating time. For prolonged use, connect the device to an external power bank via the USB-C port.
