3.1 Measuring Your Window

Accurate measurements are crucial for a proper fit. Please follow the guidelines below for both inside and outside mount installations. For a visual guide, refer to the video provided.

Video 1: How to Measure for SmartWings Blinds. This video provides detailed instructions for accurate window measurements.

Inside Mount Measurement:

  • Measure the width of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Take the minimum of these three data points.
  • Measure the height of the window frame at the left, middle, and right. Take the maximum of these three data points.
  • Measure the depth of the window frame. A minimum depth of 2.4" (6cm) is required for mounting brackets.

Outside Mount Measurement:

  • Measure the width and height along the outside window frame.
  • We recommend adding 3"-6" (7.6cm-15.2cm) to the exact width and height to ensure the blinds fully cover the window.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

The blackout fabric is easy to clean. You can wipe off dust and light stains with a dry or wet cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that may damage the fabric.

5.2 Battery Charging

The motorized blinds are equipped with durable rechargeable batteries. A full charge typically takes about 6 hours and can last for approximately 600 operations (about half a year with typical use). Connect the charging cable to the charging port on the motor when the indicator light signals low battery.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Blinds not responding: Check if the remote control battery is low or needs replacement. Ensure the blind's motor battery is charged. Verify that the remote is paired correctly with the blinds.
  • Smart home connectivity issues: If using Zigbee, Z-wave, or Matter, ensure your smart home hub is online and within range. Try unpairing and re-pairing the blinds through your smart home app. Consult your smart home hub's manual for specific troubleshooting steps.
  • Uneven movement: This may indicate an issue with the motor's limit settings. Refer to the detailed product manual for instructions on resetting or adjusting the upper and lower limits.
  • Noise during operation: A slight motor hum is normal. Excessive or unusual noise may indicate an obstruction or a mechanical issue. Ensure the blinds are installed correctly and move freely.
