3. Key Features
- Emergency Radio: The RA79 can receive emergency information during natural disasters or accidents. It quickly scans emergency channels to keep you informed and connected.

4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
- Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the battery release latch and slide the battery downwards.
4.2. Antenna Attachment
- Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on top of the radio until it is firmly seated.
- Do not overtighten.
4.3. Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the battery. The RA79 offers two charging methods:
- USB Desktop Charger: Place the radio (with battery installed) into the desktop charger. Connect the USB cable to the charger and a compatible USB power source.
- Direct USB-C Charging: Plug a USB-C cable directly into the USB-C port on the side of the radio.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
- To power on, rotate the top-right knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- Continue rotating to adjust the volume.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.
5.2. Frequency Tuning (VFO Mode)
The VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode allows you to manually input and tune to specific frequencies.
- Press the VFO/MR button to switch to VFO mode.
- Use the keypad to enter the desired frequency.
- Use the Up/Down arrow keys to fine-tune the frequency.

5.3. Channel Programming (Chirp Support)
The RA79 supports programming via PC software like Chirp. This allows for easy management of channels and advanced settings.
- Connect the radio to your computer using the provided programming cable.

5.4. NOAA Weather Alert

5.5. FM Radio Function

5.7. 10 Meter Ham Radio Band Operation
The RA79 is capable of operating on the 10-meter ham radio band, expanding its utility for amateur radio enthusiasts.
- Ensure you have the necessary licenses and knowledge for operating on amateur radio bands.
- Tune to the desired frequencies within the 10-meter band (28.000 MHz to 29.700 MHz).

6. Maintenance
