Setup
1. Battery Installation
Both the Indoor Host Unit and the Floating Pool Temperature Outdoor Sensor Unit require batteries for operation.
- Indoor Host Unit: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the indoor host unit. Insert 2 x 1.5V "AAA" Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment.
- Floating Pool Temperature Outdoor Sensor Unit: Twist open the top cover of the floating sensor unit. Insert 2 x 1.5V "AAA" Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Securely close the top cover to maintain its waterproof seal.

2. Placement
- Indoor Host Unit: Place the indoor host unit in a dry, stable location within 60 meters (200 feet) of the outdoor sensor. Ensure it is not exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which could affect its indoor temperature readings. The unit has a built-in kickstand for tabletop placement.
- Floating Pool Temperature Outdoor Sensor Unit: Place the floating sensor directly into the water body you wish to monitor (pool, spa, aquarium). The included hanging rope can be used to secure the sensor if desired. Ensure the sensor is floating freely and not obstructed.

3. Initial Synchronization
After installing batteries in both units, the indoor host unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. This may take a few minutes. Once connected, the outdoor water temperature will appear on the indoor host display.
Operating Instructions
1. Display Overview
The indoor host unit's LCD screen displays the following information:
- Top Display: Outdoor (water) temperature.
- Middle Display: Indoor temperature.
- Bottom Display: Current time.
- Indicators: Battery level, wireless signal strength, temperature units (℃/℉).

2. Setting Time and Time Format
Refer to the included multi-language instruction manual for detailed steps on setting the current time and switching between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Typically, a 'SET' button is used to enter time setting mode.
3. Temperature Unit Selection (℃/℉)
To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉), locate the ℃/℉ button on the back of the indoor host unit (often combined with the 'SET' button). Press this button to toggle the temperature display units.
4. Viewing Max/Min Temperature Records
The device records the highest and lowest temperatures for both indoor and outdoor readings over a 24-hour period. To view these records, press the 'MEM' button (often combined with the '+' button) on the back of the indoor host unit. Subsequent presses will cycle through maximum and minimum values. The records typically reset automatically every 24 hours or can be manually cleared by holding the 'MEM' button.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean the units, wipe them with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the indoor host unit in water. The outdoor sensor is waterproof but should be cleaned gently to avoid damaging the display or sensor components.
2. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in the respective unit (indoor host or outdoor sensor). Always use new 1.5V "AAA" Alkaline batteries and ensure correct polarity. For the outdoor sensor, ensure the cover is securely fastened after battery replacement to maintain its waterproof integrity.
3. Storage
If the thermometer will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries from both units to prevent leakage and damage. Store the units in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- No Display on Indoor Host Unit:
Check if batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary. - No Outdoor Temperature Reading:
Ensure the outdoor sensor has fresh batteries and is within the 60-meter transmission range of the indoor host unit. Reduce obstacles between the units. Re-synchronize by removing and reinserting batteries in both units. - Inaccurate Temperature Readings:
Ensure both units are placed away from direct heat sources, cold drafts, or direct sunlight. For the outdoor sensor, ensure it is fully immersed in the water and not touching the sides or bottom of the pool/spa if possible. - Short Transmission Distance:
The 60-meter transmission range is an open-air specification. Walls, metal structures, and electronic devices can reduce the effective range. Try repositioning the indoor host unit closer to the outdoor sensor or in a location with fewer obstructions.
