6. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wash the transparent lid, egg tray, and measuring cup in warm, soapy water. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to prolong their lifespan.
- Wipe the heating plate and the exterior of the appliance base with a damp cloth. For stubborn mineral deposits on the heating plate, you can use a small amount of white vinegar or a descaling solution. Ensure no liquid enters the electrical components.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the surfaces.
- Store the egg cooker in a dry place when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
- Appliance does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the outlet and the appliance. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Eggs are not cooked to desired consistency: Adjust the amount of water used. Less water results in softer eggs, more water results in harder eggs. Ensure the lid is properly closed during cooking.
- Water boils away too quickly: Ensure the lid is securely placed. Check for any cracks or damage to the lid that might allow steam to escape prematurely.
- Mineral deposits on heating plate: This is normal with regular use, especially in areas with hard water. Clean as described in the 'Cleaning and Maintenance' section.
