Setup and Installation

The Homematic IP Funk Wandtaster HmIP-WRC2-A requires a Homematic IP Access Point or a CCU3 Smart Home Central Control Unit for operation. Ensure your Homematic IP system is set up and operational before proceeding.

2. Battery Insertion

  1. Carefully open the device to access the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the device securely.

3. Pairing with Homematic IP System

  1. Open the Homematic IP app or your CCU3 interface.
  2. Initiate the pairing process for a new device.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the wall switch into pairing mode (usually by pressing a system button or holding a main button for a few seconds).
  4. Once successfully paired, assign the device to a room and configure its functions.

4. Mounting the Wall Switch

The wall switch offers flexible mounting options:

  • Adhesive Mounting: Clean the desired surface thoroughly. Apply the provided adhesive strips to the back of the mounting plate and firmly press the plate onto the wall. Attach the wall switch to the mounting plate.
  • Screw Mounting: Use the mounting plate as a template to mark drilling positions. Drill holes, insert wall plugs, and secure the mounting plate with screws. Attach the wall switch to the mounting plate.

The device is designed for integration into existing 55mm switch series from leading manufacturers such as Berker, GIRA, Merten, JUNG, and ELSO.

Operating the Device

Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean the device with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or wet cloths, as these can damage the surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement

The device has a battery life of up to four years under typical usage. When the battery level is low, your Homematic IP system will typically notify you via the app or CCU3 interface. To replace batteries:

  1. Carefully remove the wall switch from its mounting plate.
  2. Open the battery compartment.
  3. Remove old batteries and dispose of them according to local regulations.
  4. Insert new batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment and reattach the wall switch to its mounting plate.
