2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the battery and charger from their packaging. Inspect both items for any signs of damage. If any damage is observed, contact customer support immediately.

4.2 Physical Installation

The CHINS 36V 100Ah battery measures 20.47 x 10.59 x 8.66 inches and weighs 64.55 lb. Its lighter weight compared to lead-acid batteries simplifies installation. Ensure the installation location is dry, well-ventilated, and within the recommended storage temperature range of -10°C to 35°C (14°F to 95°F).

Secure the battery firmly to prevent movement during operation. For golf cart installations, minor modifications to the battery tray may be necessary depending on the cart model.

4.3 Electrical Connections

• Ensure all connections are clean, tight, and free from corrosion.
• Connect the positive (+) terminal of the battery to the positive terminal of your system.
• Connect the negative (-) terminal of the battery to the negative terminal of your system.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Charging the Battery

Use only the CHINS 43.8V 10A LiFePO4 charger provided with your battery.

1. Ensure the battery is within the recommended charging temperature range of 0°C~50°C (32°F~122°F).
2. Connect the charger's output plug to the battery's charging port.
3. Plug the charger into a standard AC power outlet.
4. The charger's indicator light will show charging status. Refer to the charger's label for specific indicator meanings (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
5. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the AC outlet and then from the battery.

The charger includes a 0V charging function. If the battery's voltage drops below 9V and it cannot be charged by a standard charger (due to BMS protection), this charger can activate the BMS and initiate charging.

5.2 Bluetooth Monitoring

The CHINS battery features a built-in Bluetooth module for real-time monitoring via a mobile application.

1. Download the CHINS battery monitoring app from your device's app store (iOS or Android).
2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
3. Open the app and search for available CHINS batteries. The wireless connection range is typically within 5-10 meters from the battery.
4. Connect to your battery. The app will display important information such as battery voltage, current, State of Charge (SOC), and other diagnostic data.

5.3 Discharging

The battery's BMS will protect against over-discharge by disconnecting the load when the voltage drops to the Low Voltage Disconnect Voltage (34.8V). The battery will reconnect when the voltage reaches the Low Voltage Reconnect Voltage (37.2V).

6. Maintenance

CHINS LiFePO4 batteries are designed to be largely maintenance-free due to their robust chemistry and integrated BMS.

• Regular Inspection: Periodically check the battery terminals for cleanliness and tightness. Ensure there are no signs of physical damage to the battery casing.
• Cleaning: If necessary, clean the battery surface with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: For long-term storage, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50-70% State of Charge (SOC). Store the battery in a cool, dry place within the recommended storage temperature range of -10°C~35°C (14°F~95°F). Avoid storing in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
• Recharge during Storage: If stored for extended periods, check the battery's SOC every 3-6 months and recharge if necessary to prevent deep discharge.

7.1 Battery Not Charging

• Check Charger Connection: Ensure the charger is securely plugged into both the battery and the AC outlet.
• Verify Power: Confirm the AC outlet is live.

• BMS Protection: If the battery voltage is very low (below 9V), the BMS might have entered protection mode. Use the included CHINS 43.8V 10A charger with its 0V charging function to reactivate the BMS.
• Charger Fault: Check the charger's indicator lights for any fault warnings.

7.2 Battery Not Discharging / No Power Output

• Low Voltage Disconnect: The BMS may have disconnected the battery due to low voltage (below 34.8V). Recharge the battery.
• Overcurrent Protection: If the load draws too much current (e.g., a trolling motor with insufficient battery current capacity), the BMS will cut off power. Reduce the load or ensure the battery's peak discharge current (1000A for less than 5 seconds) is not exceeded.
• High Temperature Cut-off: If the battery temperature exceeds 50°C (122°F), the BMS will cut off discharge. Allow the battery to cool down.

• Proximity: Ensure your mobile device is within 5-10 meters of the battery.
• Bluetooth Enabled: Verify Bluetooth is active on your mobile device.
