3. Setup and Installation
This appliance is designed for freestanding installation. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the microwave oven and all packing materials from the carton. Check for any damage.
- Placement: Place the oven on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the oven: at least 20 cm above, 10 cm at the rear, and 5 cm on each side.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the appliance's requirements (230V).
- Turntable Assembly: Place the turntable ring inside the oven cavity, then place the glass turntable securely on top of the ring.
Note: Do not block air vents. Do not place the oven near heat sources or in damp areas.
4. Operating Instructions
The SVAN SMW2700G offers various cooking functions controlled by two manual knobs.
4.1 Power Levels and Functions
Use the upper knob to select the desired power level or cooking function:
- Low: For softening ice cream, melting butter.
- Medium Low: For defrosting, simmering.
- Medium: For reheating, slow cooking.
- Medium High: For general cooking, baking.
- High: For fast cooking, boiling liquids. (700W)
- Grill: For grilling, toasting. (1000W)
- Combi 1: Microwave + Grill (e.g., for poultry)
- Combi 2: Microwave + Grill (e.g., for fish)
- Combi 3: Microwave + Grill (e.g., for vegetables)

4.2 Setting the Timer and Defrost
Use the lower knob to set the cooking time or defrost weight:
- Timer: Rotate the knob clockwise to set the desired cooking time, up to 35 minutes. The oven will start automatically once the time is set.
- Defrost (by weight): Rotate the knob counter-clockwise to select the weight of the food to be defrosted (e.g., 0.2 kg to 1.0 kg). The oven will automatically calculate the defrosting time.
4.3 Grill Function
The grill function is ideal for browning and crisping food. Ensure you use heat-resistant dishes when using the grill.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your microwave oven.
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.2 Cleaning the Interior
For spills and splatters, wipe the interior cavity immediately with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes to loosen food particles, then wipe clean. The enameled interior is designed for easy cleaning.
5.3 Cleaning the Turntable and Ring
The glass turntable and turntable ring can be removed and washed in warm, soapy water or in a dishwasher.
5.4 Odor Removal
To remove odors from the oven cavity, combine a cup of water with several tablespoons of lemon juice or vinegar in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 5-7 minutes. Allow to cool, then wipe the interior with a soft cloth.
