1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Hygger Clip-on Aquarium Light. This full-spectrum LED light is designed to provide optimal illumination for freshwater planted aquariums ranging from 18-30 cm (7-12 inches) in length. It features a user-friendly controller with adjustable timer settings, 10 color options, 10 brightness levels, a DIY color mode, and a 24/7 natural light cycle simulation.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or installation.
  • This product is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain or moisture.
  • Ensure your hands are dry when handling the power adapter or plugging/unplugging the unit.
  • Do not operate if the light or power cord is damaged.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • The lamp beads are waterproof, but the controller and power adapter are not. Avoid submerging the controller or adapter in water.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack all components and inspect them for any damage.
  2. Attach the clip of the light fixture securely to the rim of your aquarium. Ensure the light is centered over the tank for even illumination. The improved clip design accommodates various glass thicknesses.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the light fixture.
  4. Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

The light features an intuitive controller for easy adjustments. Refer to the controller diagram below for button functions.

5.1. Setting the Timer

The controller offers 6 timer options for scheduled operation:

  • Daytime Options: 6 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours.
  • Nighttime Options: 3 hours, 5 hours, 12 hours.

Select the desired duration using the timer button on the controller. The light will operate for the chosen period and then turn off.

5.2. Color Adjustment

The light provides 10 preset colors to enhance your aquarium's appearance. Press the 'Color' button on the controller to cycle through the available colors:

  • White, Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Pink, Cyan, Yellow, Light Green, Rose Red.

5.3. Brightness Adjustment

Adjust the light intensity to suit your needs with 10 levels of brightness, ranging from 10% to 100%. Use the brightness control buttons on the controller to increase or decrease the intensity.

5.4. DIY Mode

The DIY mode allows you to create custom colors by individually adjusting the brightness of the Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) LEDs. This feature enables you to mix thousands of unique light colors.

5.5. 24/7 Natural Mode

This mode simulates a natural light cycle from dawn to dusk, promoting a healthy environment for your aquatic life. The default cycle is:

  • 6:00 AM - 8:30 AM: Gradual transition to orange light (sunrise).
  • 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM: White light (daylight).
  • 10:30 PM - 6:00 AM: Lights off (night).

You can adjust the start time of the 24/7 cycle to 6 AM, 7 AM, or 8 AM. The lights will automatically turn off at 10:30 PM regardless of the chosen start time.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly wipe the light fixture with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and water spots.
  • Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the fixture.
  • Check the power cord and connections periodically for any signs of wear or damage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Light not turning on: Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the light and the electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is functional.
  • Incorrect light settings: Review the operating instructions for setting the timer, color, brightness, and modes. Reset the controller if necessary by unplugging and replugging the power.
  • Flickering light: Ensure all connections are secure. If flickering persists, contact customer support.
