1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective operation of the CHOICEMMED MD300C52 Pediatric Fingertip Pulse Oximeter. This device is designed to measure oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate through a child's finger. It features a dual-color OLED screen that displays both waveform and pulse bar, offering 6 display modes with adjustable brightness. The oximeter also includes a battery low indicator and an automatic power-off function to conserve battery life.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the device.
2. Insert two (2) AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The device requires 2 AAA alkaline batteries for operation. Ensure batteries are inserted correctly to prevent damage.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Taking a Measurement

1. Open the clamp of the oximeter.
2. Insert one of the child's fingers into the rubber opening of the oximeter, ensuring the finger is placed correctly and comfortably.
3. Release the clamp.
4. Press the power button located on the top panel to turn on the device.
5. Keep the hand still during the measurement. The readings for SpO2 and pulse rate will appear on the display within a few seconds.

3.2 Display Modes and Brightness

• The device offers 6 different display modes. Briefly press the power button while the device is on to cycle through the display modes.
• To adjust brightness, press and hold the power button for approximately 1 second while the device is on.

3.3 Automatic Power-Off

The oximeter will automatically power off after approximately 8 seconds of inactivity or when the finger is removed from the device.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

• Clean the surface of the oximeter with a soft cloth dampened with medical alcohol (75% ethanol) or isopropyl alcohol.
• Do not immerse the device in water or any other cleaning solution.
• Ensure the device is dry before reuse.

4.2 Battery Replacement

When the battery low indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings. Refer to Section 2.1 for battery installation instructions.

4.3 Storage

Store the oximeter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

5. Troubleshooting

• No Display: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
• Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the finger is fully inserted and still. Avoid strong light sources directly on the sensor. Ensure the device is clean.
• "Finger Out" Message: Reinsert the finger properly into the device.
• Device Powers Off Unexpectedly: Check battery level. If the battery low indicator is on, replace batteries.
