2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Upon receiving your Retevis RA89, carefully unbox all components. The package should include: the RA89 radio unit, a 2500mAh Li-ion battery, a speaker microphone, a USB-C charging cable, a belt clip, a charging base, and this user manual. Inspect all items for any signs of damage.

2.2 Battery Installation and Charging
To install the battery, align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio and slide it upwards until it clicks into place. To charge, connect the USB-C charging cable to the battery directly or place the radio in the charging base. The 2500mAh battery provides approximately 75 hours of standby time.

2.3 Attaching the Antenna and Accessories
Screw the antenna clockwise onto the connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws. The speaker microphone can be connected to the side port for convenient hands-free communication.

3.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control
To power on the radio, rotate the top knob clockwise. Continue rotating to adjust the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise until a click is heard to power off.
