First Use (Cleaning Cycle)

  3. Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket.
  4. Place the empty carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
  6. Press the 'Start/Pause' button to begin a brewing cycle with only water. This will clean the internal components.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water to your desired number of cups (up to 14 cups). The water level indicator on the side helps with accurate measurement.
  2. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the reusable filter. For optimal flavor, refer to the recommended coffee-to-water ratio (e.g., 1 tablespoon of coffee per 5 ounces of water, adjust to taste).
  3. Place the reusable filter into the filter basket. Ensure the carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate.
  4. Press the 'Strength' button to select your preferred brew strength: Mild, Medium, or Bold. The digital display will indicate the selected strength.
  5. Press the 'Start/Pause' button to begin the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
  6. The coffee maker features a 'Pause & Serve' function, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
  7. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'Keep Warm' mode, maintaining coffee temperature for up to 4 hours. After 4 hours, the auto shut-off feature will activate.

Setting the Programmable Timer

  1. To set the current time, press the 'Hour' button until the correct hour is displayed. Then press the 'Min' button until the correct minute is displayed. The time will be set automatically.
  2. To program a delayed brew time, press the 'Prog' button. The display will show 'PROG'.
  3. Use the 'Hour' and 'Min' buttons to set your desired brew start time (up to 24 hours in advance).
  4. Press the 'Prog' button again to confirm the programmed time. The 'PROG' indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Ensure the water tank is filled and coffee grounds are in the filter basket. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
  • Discard used coffee grounds from the reusable filter.
  • Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. These parts are dishwasher-safe for convenience.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Descaling (Decalcification)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance and coffee taste. Descaling should be performed regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).

  1. Prepare a descaling solution by mixing white vinegar and cold water in equal parts. Fill the water tank with this solution up to the 14-cup MAX line.
  2. Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the 'Start/Pause' button to run a full brewing cycle with the descaling solution.
  4. After the cycle is complete, discard the solution from the carafe.
  5. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse the coffee maker thoroughly and remove any residual vinegar taste.
