GREENIC Motion Sensor Light Bulbs Instruction Manual

Model: A60 PIR MOTION BULB

Introduction

Thank you for choosing GREENIC Motion Sensor Light Bulbs. These intelligent LED bulbs are designed to provide convenient, energy-efficient lighting for both indoor and outdoor environments. Featuring advanced PIR infrared motion sensing and a smart dusk-to-dawn photocell, they automatically illuminate when motion is detected in dark conditions and turn off when not needed, enhancing security and saving energy.

Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your motion sensor light bulbs. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Mounting Direction: LED motion light bulbs should be mounted downwards or horizontally.
  • Installation Height: Install the bulb no higher than 10-13 feet for effective motion detection.
  • Sensor Exposure: The top of the A19 motion sensor bulb, which houses the PIR sensor, must not be covered by light fixtures or any other objects. Ensure the sensor is fully exposed.
  • Avoid Enclosed Fixtures: Do not install the bulb inside a glass cover, plastic lampshade, or any other enclosed light fixture, as this will hinder the infrared sensor's ability to detect motion.
  • Light Source Interference: Ensure the installation position is not affected by other light sources (except natural light) that could interfere with the dusk-to-dawn sensor.
  • Power Supply: Always keep the light switch energized for the bulb to function automatically.
  • Switch Compatibility: Do not use these bulbs with switches that have functions like touching sensors, infrared sensors, voice control, or other light control features, as this can cause malfunction.
  • Multiple Bulbs: If installing multiple bulbs, maintain a distance of at least 10 feet between them to prevent interference and ensure proper function.

Operating Instructions

Your GREENIC Motion Sensor Light Bulbs are equipped with two primary intelligent features:

1. Intelligent PIR Infrared Motion Sensor

  • Motion Detection Range: The sensor detects motion within a range of 10-13 feet.
  • Automatic Activation: The bulb will automatically light up when movement is detected within its range.
  • Automatic Deactivation: The bulb will automatically turn off approximately 30 seconds after motion ceases.
  • Sensor Direction: Ensure the sensor is pointing down within the proper distance and angle for optimal detection. To increase sensitivity, adjust the installation angle and height so the sensor faces the direction of expected movement.

2. Smart Dusk to Dawn Sensor

  • Daytime Deactivation: A sensitive photocell sensor keeps the LED motion bulb off during the daytime or in bright areas (above approximately 30 Lux).
  • Nighttime Activation: The motion detection function activates during the night or in dark areas (below approximately 18 Lux).
  • Initial Power-On: When switched on for the first time, the bulb will stay on and then turn off after about 30 seconds if no motion is detected.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and consistent performance of your GREENIC Motion Sensor Light Bulbs, minimal maintenance is required:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the bulb and especially the sensor area with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or debris that might obstruct the sensor.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the bulbs are used within their specified operating temperature range of 14°F to 104°F. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or direct water spray.
  • Sensor Obstruction: Regularly check that no new objects or fixtures are obstructing the sensor's line of sight.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your GREENIC Motion Sensor Light Bulbs, please refer to the common problems and solutions below:

  1. Bulb does not light up or stops triggering the sensor after initial use:

This often occurs if there are other light sources nearby, making the environment too bright. The light sensing device inside the bulb will activate, preventing the motion sensor from triggering. Solution: Test the bulb's function in a completely dark environment to confirm its operation.

  2. Infrared sensing function cannot be triggered:

Beyond ambient light interference, ensure the top-mounted infrared sensor is aligned with the intended detection direction. The sensor has a 120° detection angle, and there should be no obstructions within this range. The infrared sensor has limited penetrability and may be hindered by materials such as glass lampshades, plastic lampshades, or fabric strips. Solution: Verify the sensor's line of sight is clear and unobstructed by any fixture components or surrounding materials.

  3. Bulb is insensitive or constantly activated (false triggers):

First, rule out the issues mentioned above. Then, consider the following:

    • Installation Height: Ensure the installed bulb is no higher than 10 feet.
    • Thermal Interference: The infrared sensor detects thermal radiation from the human body. If the ambient temperature is close to body temperature, or if other electronic devices emit similar thermal infrared radiation nearby, the bulb may not distinguish motion accurately, leading to delayed or constant activation. Solution: Adjust the bulb's position or consider environmental factors.
  4. General Malfunction:

If the bulb is not working as expected after checking the above points, please ensure the switch is energized and that the bulb is not used with incompatible smart switches.

If you continue to experience problems, please contact GREENIC customer support for assistance.
