1. Safety Information

3. Setup

Assembly

Your Dyson Gen5outsize vacuum is designed for easy assembly. Simply click the wand into the main body, and then attach your desired cleaner head or accessory to the end of the wand until it clicks into place. For direct attachment, accessories can also be clicked directly onto the main body.

Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the battery. The battery can be charged while attached to the vacuum or separately. Connect the charger to a power outlet and then to the charging port on the battery or the wall dock. The LED indicator on the battery will show charging status. A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours.

Powering On/Off

To start the vacuum, press and hold the power button located on the top of the main body. Release the button to turn off the vacuum. The vacuum operates continuously as long as the button is held down.

Suction Modes

Emptying the Dustbin

Empty the dustbin as soon as debris reaches the MAX fill line. To empty, hold the vacuum over a trash can, push the red lever down firmly to release the bin, and then push it further to eject the contents. Close the bin base until it clicks securely.

Cleaning the Filter

The HEPA filter is washable and should be cleaned at least once a month, or more frequently if the vacuum is used heavily. To clean, twist the filter counter-clockwise to remove it from the main body. Wash under cold tap water until the water runs clear. Squeeze and twist to remove excess water. Allow to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting. Do not use a tumble dryer, microwave, or open flame to dry.
