4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Mounting the Dash Cam
The G900 dash cam offers two mounting options: a suction mount and an adhesive mount. Choose the one that best suits your vehicle and preference.
- Suction Mount: Ideal for easy removal and re-positioning. Ensure the windshield is clean and dry before attaching.
- Adhesive Mount: Provides a more permanent and discreet installation. Clean the surface thoroughly and apply the electrostatic film first for easier removal later.
Position the front camera on your windshield where it does not obstruct your view, ideally behind the rearview mirror.
4.2 Connecting the Cameras
The G900 supports both front and rear recording, or front and interior recording.
- Rear Camera Installation: Use the 19.5ft cable to connect the rear camera to the main unit's AV-IN port. Route the cable discreetly along the vehicle's headliner and pillars to the rear windshield.
- Inside Camera Installation (Optional): If you prefer to monitor the vehicle's interior, use the 1ft cable to connect the secondary camera to the main unit and mount it to face the cabin.
4.3 Power Connection
Connect the included car charger to the dash cam's Type-C port and plug the other end into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Route the power cable neatly using the provided cable clips and trim tool.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts and power is supplied. It will power off automatically when the vehicle is turned off.
- Loop Recording: The camera records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
- G-Sensor: In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
5.2 Parking Monitor (Requires Hardwire Kit)
To enable 24/7 parking monitoring, a hardwire kit (sold separately) is required to provide continuous power to the dash cam when the vehicle is off. With the hardwire kit, the dash cam can:
- Time Lapse Recording: Record footage at a low frame rate (e.g., 1 fps or 3 fps) to conserve memory while providing continuous surveillance.
- G-Sensor Triggered Recording: If an impact is detected while parked, the camera will wake up and record a short video, then lock it.
5.3 Wi-Fi & App Control
The integrated Wi-Fi allows you to connect your smartphone to the dash cam for easy management of recordings and settings.
- Download the official GMAIPOP app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- On the dash cam, enable Wi-Fi through the menu settings.
- Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password usually displayed on the dash cam screen).
- Open the app to view live footage, browse recorded videos, download files to your phone, and adjust camera settings.
Note: The Wi-Fi connection is primarily for file download and app settings. The Wi-Fi may turn off when the camera restarts; you may need to manually re-enable it when you wish to use the app.
6. Maintenance
- SD Card Management: Regularly format your SD card (at least once a month) through the dash cam's settings to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lenses and screen. Avoid abrasive materials or chemical cleaners.
- Operating Temperature: The dash cam is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 165°F (-20°C to 74°C). Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside this range for prolonged periods.
