Setup and Initial Adjustment
Your Freelancer GMT Worldtimer watch features two crowns for adjustments: the main crown at 3 o'clock for time and date, and the worldtimer crown at 4 o'clock for the city disc.

1. Winding the Movement
As an automatic watch, it is powered by wrist movement. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, manually wind it by turning the main crown (at 3 o'clock) clockwise approximately 30-40 times while it is in its normal operating position (position 0, pushed in). This provides an initial power reserve.
2. Setting Local Time and Date
- Pull the main crown (at 3 o'clock) out to position 2 (farthest out). The seconds hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired local time. Ensure the 24-hour GMT hand is not affected during this adjustment.
- Push the crown back to position 1 (middle position).
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent damage to the movement.
- Push the crown back to position 0 (fully pushed in) to resume normal operation.
3. Setting the Worldtimer City Disc
The worldtimer function allows you to view 24 time zones. The city disc is adjusted using the crown at 4 o'clock.
- Identify your current local city on the rotating city disc.
- Turn the crown at 4 o'clock until your local city is aligned with the 12 o'clock position on the dial (or the current local hour on the 24-hour scale).
- Once set, the 24-hour scale will indicate the corresponding time in all other listed cities. The light and dark segments on the 24-hour scale indicate day and night respectively.
Operating the Watch
The Freelancer GMT Worldtimer provides multiple time indications for global travelers.

1. Reading Local Time
The barrel-shaped hour and minute hands indicate the local time. These are the primary time-telling hands.
2. Reading GMT (Home) Time
The green GMT hand, with its distinctive red and white triangular tip, indicates the prevailing hour in your home time zone. This hand operates on a 24-hour scale, allowing you to distinguish between AM and PM for your home time.
3. Reading World Time Zones
Once the city disc is set to your local city at the 12 o'clock position (or corresponding local hour), you can read the time in any of the 24 listed cities by observing the 24-hour scale adjacent to the city name. The light segment of the 24-hour scale indicates daytime hours (approximately 6 AM to 6 PM), and the dark segment indicates nighttime hours (approximately 6 PM to 6 AM).
Maintenance and Care
Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your RAYMOND WEIL timepiece.
1. Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. If the watch becomes dirty, gently wipe the case with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not use abrasive materials or strong cleaning agents.
2. Water Resistance
Your watch has a water resistance rating of 10 ATM (100 meters / 330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for scuba diving. Always ensure both crowns are fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crowns while the watch is wet or submerged.

3. Power Reserve
The Calibre RW3230 automatic movement provides a power reserve of approximately 50 hours when fully wound. If the watch is not worn for this duration, it will stop. To restart, manually wind it or wear it for several hours.
4. Service
For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your watch serviced by an authorized RAYMOND WEIL service center every 3-5 years. Regular servicing includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement, as well as checking seals for water resistance.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Watch Not Running: Ensure the watch is sufficiently wound. If it has stopped, manually wind it using the main crown (30-40 turns clockwise) or wear it consistently for several hours.
- Time Inaccuracy: Automatic movements can be affected by strong magnetic fields. If your watch is consistently running fast or slow, it may need demagnetization or adjustment by a professional.
- Date Not Changing: Check if the date is being set during the "danger zone" (9 PM to 3 AM). Adjust the time past 3 AM before setting the date. If the issue persists, professional inspection is recommended.
- Water Inside Watch: If you notice condensation or water inside the watch, immediately take it to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to dry it yourself.
For any issues not resolved by these steps, please contact an authorized RAYMOND WEIL service center.
