The DT007 features a flexible tip with a sensor, an LCD screen for displaying readings, and a power/mode button. It is designed for oral, axillary (armpit), and rectal temperature measurements.
5. Setup and Initial Use
5.1 Battery Installation
Both thermometers require batteries for operation. Refer to the battery compartment on each device for specific battery type and installation instructions. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.
5.2 JXB183 Initial Settings (°F/°C)
To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) on the JXB183, power on the device. While the device is on, press and hold the "MODE" button for a few seconds until the unit changes. Release the button when your desired unit is displayed.

6. Operating Instructions - Berrcom JXB183
6.1 Taking Body Temperature (Forehead)
- Ensure the thermometer is in Body Mode. Press the "MODE" button to cycle through modes if necessary.
- Hold the thermometer approximately 0.3 to 1.5 inches (1-3 cm) from the center of the forehead.
- Press the "SCAN" button once. The temperature will be displayed on the screen within 1 second.
- Wipe off any sweat or grease from the forehead before measuring for optimal accuracy.

6.2 Taking Object or Room Temperature
- Press the "MODE" button to select either Object Mode or Room Mode.
- Point the thermometer at the object or towards the room area you wish to measure.
- Press the "SCAN" button. The temperature will be displayed.
6.3 Interpreting Backlight Colors
- Green Backlight: Indicates a normal temperature (e.g., 89.6°F - 99.2°F).
- Orange Backlight: Indicates an elevated temperature (e.g., 99.3°F - 100.3°F).
- Red Backlight: Indicates a fever (e.g., 100.4°F - 109.2°F). An audible alarm may also sound.

6.4 Memory Recall
To view previous temperature readings, press the "MEM" button. Each press will cycle through the stored readings. The JXB183 can store up to 32 readings.

6.5 Mute/Unmute Function
The JXB183 has a mute function for silent operation. Refer to the device's specific button for this feature, often indicated by a speaker icon. Pressing it will toggle between mute and unmute.
7. Operating Instructions - Berrcom DT007
7.1 Taking Oral Temperature
- Press the power button to turn on the thermometer.
- Place the tip of the thermometer under the tongue, as far back as comfortable.
- Close lips around the thermometer to hold it in place.
- Wait for the thermometer to beep, indicating the measurement is complete. Read the temperature on the LCD screen.
7.2 Taking Axillary (Armpit) Temperature
- Press the power button to turn on the thermometer.
- Place the tip of the thermometer in the armpit, ensuring good skin contact.
- Hold the arm firmly against the body to keep the thermometer in place.
- Wait for the thermometer to beep, indicating the measurement is complete. Axillary temperatures are generally less accurate than oral or rectal readings.
7.3 Taking Rectal Temperature
Note: Rectal temperature is generally considered the most accurate for infants and young children.
- Press the power button to turn on the thermometer.
- Lubricate the tip of the thermometer with a water-soluble lubricant.
- Gently insert the tip no more than 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) into the rectum.
- Hold the thermometer in place until it beeps. Read the temperature on the LCD screen.

8. Maintenance and Storage
8.1 Cleaning
- JXB183: Wipe the thermometer body and sensor with a soft cloth dampened with alcohol or mild disinfectant. Do not immerse the device in water.
- DT007: The tip of the DT007 is waterproof. Clean the tip with soap and water or an alcohol wipe. The entire device can be wiped clean.

8.2 Storage
Store both thermometers in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep them in their protective cases (if provided) when not in use.
8.3 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Follow the instructions in the battery compartment for safe replacement. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
