The KSK BATTLER modular helmet is homologated to the ECE R 22.06 standard, ensuring it meets stringent European safety requirements.

2. Safety Information

• Correct Fit: A helmet must fit snugly and comfortably. It should not move freely on your head. If it does, try a smaller size.
• Secure the Retention System: Always fasten the micrometric buckle securely under your chin. The strap should be tight enough so that the helmet cannot be pulled off your head.
• No Modifications: Never modify your helmet in any way (e.g., drilling holes, painting with solvents, attaching accessories not approved by KSK). This can compromise its structural integrity and void the warranty.
• Impact Absorption: A helmet is designed to absorb impact by partial destruction of the shell and liner. After any impact, even if no visible damage is present, the helmet should be replaced.
• Visibility: Ensure your visor is clean and free from obstructions. Use the retractable sun shield only in appropriate lighting conditions.

4. Setup

4.1. Fitting the Helmet

1. Grasp the chin straps and pull the helmet onto your head.
2. Ensure the helmet sits level on your head, with the top edge of the eye port just above your eyebrows.
3. Check for a snug fit. The helmet should feel firm around your cheeks and crown without causing pressure points. It should not move when you shake your head.

4.2. Securing the Micrometric Buckle

1. Insert the ribbed strap into the buckle until it clicks securely.
2. Pull the strap to tighten it until it feels snug under your chin. You should not be able to slip more than two fingers between the strap and your chin.
3. To release, pull the red tab on the buckle.

4.3. Applying Reflective Stickers

The helmet includes mandatory reflective stickers. Apply these stickers to the helmet in visible locations as required by local regulations to enhance your visibility to other road users.

5. Operating the Helmet

5.1. Main Visor Operation

The clear main visor can be opened and closed by lifting or lowering it from the tab located at the bottom center. It features multiple detent positions to allow for partial opening.

5.2. Retractable Sun Shield

To deploy the internal sun shield, locate the slider mechanism on the left side of the helmet. Push the slider forward to lower the sun shield. Pull it back to retract the sun shield. Use the sun shield only in bright conditions to reduce glare.

5.3. Modular Function (Chin Bar)

The KSK BATTLER helmet features a 90° modular chin bar. To raise the chin bar, locate the release button or lever, typically found at the front center of the chin bar. Press the button and lift the chin bar upwards until it locks into the open position. To close, press the release button again and firmly push the chin bar down until it clicks securely into place. Always ensure the chin bar is fully locked before riding.

5.4. Ventilation System

The helmet is equipped with adjustable upper and lower ventilation systems. Locate the sliders on the top and front of the helmet. Slide them to open or close the vents to control airflow and internal temperature. Rear air extractors help to draw warm air out of the helmet.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Exterior

Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth, warm water, and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the shell material and protective coatings.

6.2. Cleaning the Visor and Sun Shield

Use only warm water and a soft microfiber cloth to clean the visor and sun shield. Gently wipe away dirt and debris. For stubborn marks, use a helmet-specific visor cleaner. Do not use abrasive materials or paper towels, which can scratch the surfaces.

6.3. Removing and Washing Padding

The interior padding is removable and washable. Carefully detach the cheek pads and crown liner by unsnapping or unhooking them from their attachment points. Hand wash the padding in cold water with mild soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle in a laundry bag. Air dry completely before re-installing. Do not tumble dry.

6.4. Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided protective cover to prevent dust and scratches.

7. Troubleshooting

• Visor Fogging: Ensure ventilation vents are open. Consider using an anti-fog insert or spray.
• Chin Bar Not Locking: Ensure no debris is obstructing the locking mechanism. Push firmly until you hear a distinct click.
• Helmet Feels Loose: Re-check the micrometric buckle adjustment. If the helmet still feels loose, it may be the wrong size and should be replaced with a smaller one.
• Excessive Wind Noise: Ensure all vents are closed if not needed. Check that the chin curtain is properly installed.
