4. Installation & Setup
It is highly recommended that the installation of this water heater be carried out by a qualified and authorized technician to ensure safety and proper functioning.
4.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the water heater and all accessories from the packaging.
- Verify that all included components are present: 1 Unit Water Heater, 1 set mounting fasteners, user manual.
- Inspect the appliance for any signs of damage. Do not install if damaged.
4.2 Mounting the Water Heater
- Choose a suitable wall location, ensuring it is strong enough to support the weight of the water heater when full.
- Mark the drilling points using the mounting bracket as a template.
- Drill holes and insert appropriate wall plugs. Secure the mounting fasteners.
- Hang the water heater securely on the mounted fasteners.
4.3 Water Connections
- Connect the cold water inlet pipe to the blue marked inlet connection of the water heater.
- Connect the hot water outlet pipe to the red marked outlet connection of the water heater.
- Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Use appropriate sealing tape.
- Install the Pressure Release Valve (PRV) as per the instructions provided with the valve.
4.4 Electrical Connections
- Ensure the main power supply is switched off before making electrical connections.
- Plug the moulded 3-pin plug into a dedicated, properly grounded electrical socket.
- Verify that the voltage and current rating of the socket match the water heater's requirements (3000W).
4.5 First Fill
- Before switching on the power, open the hot water tap in your bathroom/kitchen to allow air to escape.
- Turn on the cold water supply to the water heater.
- Wait until water flows steadily from the hot water tap, indicating the tank is full. Close the hot water tap.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On
- After ensuring the tank is full of water (refer to Section 4.5), switch on the main power supply to the water heater.
5.2 Heating Indication
- The built-in Neon Indicator will illuminate to show that the water heater is powered on and heating.
- Once the water reaches the set temperature, the heating indicator may turn off, and the water heater will maintain the temperature.
5.3 Powering Off
- To turn off the water heater, simply switch off the main power supply.
- For extended periods of non-use, it is advisable to also turn off the water supply to the unit.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
- Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the water heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (scale) can build up inside the tank and on the heating element, reducing efficiency. It is recommended to have the water heater descaled by a qualified technician annually, especially in hard water areas.
- Pressure Release Valve Check: Periodically check the Pressure Release Valve (PRV) to ensure it is not blocked. Consult a technician for this check.
- Connection Check: Periodically inspect water and electrical connections for any signs of leakage or wear.
