Setup Instructions

  1. Placement of the Pump: Position the Pawfly oxygen pump in a dry, protected area above the water level of your pond. This prevents water backflow into the pump. The pump features shockproof rubber feet to minimize vibration and noise.
  2. Connect Air Tubing: Cut the 25-foot airline tubing into desired lengths for each air stone. Connect one end of each tubing segment to an outlet port on the air flow splitter.
  3. Install Check Valves: Attach a check valve to the other end of each tubing segment. Ensure the check valve is oriented correctly to allow airflow towards the air stone and prevent water backflow.
  4. Attach Air Stones: Connect an air stone ball to the open end of each check valve.
  5. Connect to Pump: Connect the main airline tubing from the air flow splitter to the air outlet of the Pawfly pump.
  6. Submerge Air Stones: Carefully place the air stones into your pond at the desired locations and depths.
  7. Power Connection: Plug the pump's power cord into a suitable outdoor electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected from weather and moisture.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once all connections are secure and the air stones are submerged, plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet. The pump will begin operating immediately.
  2. Adjust Air Flow: The pump features a rotatable knob on the top to manually adjust the air volume. Turn the knob to increase or decrease the air output to meet your pond's specific aeration needs.
  3. Monitor Performance: Observe the bubbles produced by the air stones. Consistent and steady bubbling indicates proper operation.
  4. Winter Operation: During winter, the pump helps prevent pond surface freezing by promoting water movement, creating a ventilation hole for fish to breathe.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No air output or weak bubbles
  • Pump not plugged in or no power.
  • Air stones clogged.
  • Airline tubing kinked or disconnected.
  • Air flow adjustment knob set too low.
  • Air filter clogged.
  • Check power supply and connections.
  • Clean or replace air stones.
  • Straighten tubing or re-secure connections.
  • Adjust the air flow knob to a higher setting.
  • Clean or replace the air filter.
Pump is noisy or vibrating excessively
  • Pump not on a stable surface.
  • Rubber feet are missing or damaged.
  • Place pump on a flat, stable surface.
  • Ensure all four rubber feet are intact and properly positioned.
Water backflow into pump
  • Check valve installed incorrectly or missing.
  • Pump placed below water level.
  • Install check valve correctly (airflow towards air stone).
  • Ensure pump is always positioned above the pond's water level.
