2. Package Contents

3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
- Insert the supplied AAA battery pack, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
- Place each handset on its respective charger or the base unit to charge for at least 16 hours before first use.
3.2 Base Unit Connection
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE port on the base unit.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your telephone wall socket.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the POWER port on the base unit.
- Plug the AC adaptor into a mains power outlet.
- For the additional charger, connect its AC adaptor to the charger and then to a mains power outlet.
3.3 Handset Registration
Your handsets are typically pre-registered to the base unit. If a handset displays 'Unregistered' or 'Register Handset', follow these steps:
- On the base unit, press and hold the PAGE button for approximately 5 seconds until the registration indicator light flashes.
- On the handset, navigate to the 'Registration' menu (refer to the Quick Start Guide for specific menu navigation).
- Select 'Register Handset' and enter the system PIN (default is usually 0000).
- The handset will display 'Registering...' and then 'Handset Registered' upon successful completion.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Press the TALK button, then dial the number. Alternatively, dial the number first and then press TALK.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the TALK button.
- To End a Call: Press the END button or place the handset back on the base unit/charger.
4.2 Digital Answering Machine
The base unit includes a digital answering machine to record messages when you are unavailable.
- Playing Messages: Press the PLAY/STOP button on the base unit. The display will show the number of new messages.
- Deleting Messages: During message playback, press the DELETE button on the base unit.
- Setting Up: Access the answering machine settings via the handset menu to record your outgoing message or adjust settings.

4.3 Nuisance Call Blocker
This feature allows you to block unwanted incoming calls.
- Blocking a Number: During or after a call, access the call blocker menu on the handset. You can add numbers to a block list.
- Blocking Unknown Numbers: The system can be configured to block calls from numbers not stored in your phonebook or from withheld numbers.

4.4 Caller ID and Call Waiting

- Caller ID: The handset display shows the caller's number (and name if stored in your phonebook) before you answer. The phone stores up to 20 incoming call records.
- Call Waiting: If you are on a call and another call comes in, you will hear a tone. You can switch between calls.

- To Activate: During a call, press the SPEAKER button.
