Setup

Hearing Protection Earmuffs

Battery Installation: Locate the battery compartment on one of the earcups. Insert the required batteries (refer to product packaging for battery type and installation). Ensure correct polarity.
Adjusting the Headband: Extend or retract the headband slides to ensure a snug but comfortable fit over your ears. The earcups should fully cover your ears to maximize noise reduction.
Antenna: Extend the antenna for optimal radio reception.

Safety Glasses

Inspection: Before each use, inspect the glasses for any scratches, cracks, or damage to the lenses or frame. Do not use if damaged.
Fit: Place the glasses on your face, ensuring the lenses cover your eyes completely and the temple arms rest comfortably over your ears. The integrated nosepiece should provide a stable fit.

Operating Instructions

Hearing Protection Earmuffs

Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a circle or power symbol) to turn the unit on or off.
Volume Control: Use the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons to adjust the listening level.
AM/FM Selection: Press the "AM/FM" button to switch between AM and FM radio bands.
Tuning: Use the tuning buttons (often arrows or seek buttons) to scan for radio stations.
Setting Presets:
1. Tune to your desired station.
2. Press and hold a preset button (e.g., P1-P8) until the display confirms the station is saved.
Auxiliary Input: Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the 3.5mm auxiliary input jack using the provided cable. The audio from the external device will play through the earmuffs.
Bluetooth (if applicable to DPG17 model):
1. Ensure the earmuffs are powered on.
2. Activate Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to specific button on device, often a dedicated Bluetooth button or holding the power button).
3. On your device, search for "DEWALT Hearing Protection" and select to pair.
4. Once paired, audio from your device will stream wirelessly.

The safety glasses require no operational steps beyond proper fitting and inspection.

Maintenance

Hearing Protection Earmuffs

Cleaning: Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water. Air dry completely.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears or audio quality degrades.
Ear Cushion Replacement: Periodically inspect ear cushions for wear and tear. Replace if damaged to maintain noise reduction effectiveness.

Safety Glasses

Cleaning: Clean lenses with a soft, clean cloth and a mild lens cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive materials that can scratch the lenses.
Storage: Store in a protective case or pouch to prevent scratches when not in use.
Inspection: Regularly inspect for damage. Replace if lenses are scratched, cracked, or the frame is compromised.

Do not machine wash or dry any components of this product.

Troubleshooting

Hearing Protection Earmuffs

No Power:: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh. Replace if necessary.
Poor Radio Reception:: Extend the antenna fully. Try moving to a different location. Ensure no strong interference sources are nearby.
No Audio from Auxiliary Device:: Ensure the auxiliary cable is fully inserted into both the earmuffs and the audio device. Check the volume on both the earmuffs and the audio device.
Bluetooth Pairing Issues:: Ensure earmuffs are in pairing mode. Turn off and on Bluetooth on your device. Ensure earmuffs are within range of your device. Forget the device on your phone and try pairing again.

Uncomfortable Fit:: Adjust the position on your face. Ensure the temple arms are not bent or damaged.
Obscured Vision:: Clean lenses thoroughly. If scratches are present, replace the glasses.
