5. Setup
5.1 Initial Power-Up
- Remove the protective film from the main unit's display.
- Insert the included CR2032 battery into the main unit's battery compartment. This battery serves as a backup for settings during power outages.
- Plug the AC power adapter into the DC hole on the main unit and then into a power outlet. The display will light up.
- Open the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor. Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the switch.
- Insert 2x AA alkaline batteries (not included) into the outdoor sensor. Do not use heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries.
- Close the battery compartment. The sensor will immediately begin transmitting data.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is set to the same channel as selected on the main unit. If not, press the ▲/CH button on the main unit to cycle through channels until it matches the sensor.
- Allow at least one hour for the devices to synchronize and retrieve accurate data.
5.2 Placement Guidelines
- Main Unit: Place the main unit horizontally on a flat surface or mount it on a wall using the hanging hole. Ensure it is at least 0.9 meters (3 feet) away from electronics that may interfere with wireless communication (e.g., TVs, computers, microwaves).
- Outdoor Sensor: Place the sensor in a location protected from direct sunlight and rainfall to ensure accurate readings and prolong its lifespan. Ensure there is plenty of fresh air circulating around the sensor. The wireless transmission range is up to 100 meters (328 feet) in open areas.
