1. Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions before operating the roaster oven.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the main body, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'OFF', then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Cleaning

1. Before first use, wash the removable roasting pan and roasting rack in hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
2. Wipe the exterior of the roaster oven body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the roaster body in water.

3.2 Assembly

1. Place the clean removable roasting pan into the roaster body.
2. Insert the roasting rack into the removable pan.
3. Place the self-basting lid securely on top of the roasting pan.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Temperature Control

The roaster oven features a full-range temperature control from 150°F to 450°F, along with dedicated 'KEEP WARM' and 'DEFROST' settings.

4.2 Roasting

1. Prepare your food (e.g., turkey, chicken, vegetables) and place it on the roasting rack inside the removable pan. The 18QT capacity can accommodate a turkey up to 22 pounds.
2. Place the self-basting lid on the roaster.
3. Plug the roaster oven into a standard electrical outlet.
4. Turn the temperature control knob to your desired roasting temperature (150-450°F). The indicator light will illuminate.
5. The self-basting lid continuously circulates moisture, reducing the need to open the lid frequently.
6. Once cooking is complete, turn the knob to 'OFF' and unplug the unit. Use oven mitts to carefully remove the lid and then the roasting rack with the cooked food.

4.3 Defrost Function

The unique Defrost setting allows you to thaw frozen items, such as a turkey, directly in the roaster oven, significantly reducing preparation time.

1. Place the frozen item in the roasting pan.
2. Set the temperature control knob to 'DEFROST'.
3. Monitor the thawing process. Once thawed, you can proceed with cooking by adjusting the temperature.

4.4 Keep Warm Function

The 'KEEP WARM' setting is ideal for maintaining food at an optimal serving temperature after cooking, perfect for buffets or delayed meals.

1. After cooking, turn the temperature control knob to 'KEEP WARM'.
2. The roaster will maintain a low, consistent temperature to keep your food warm without overcooking.

5. Care and Cleaning

Proper care and cleaning will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sunvivi Electric Roaster Oven.

5.1 Removable Roasting Pan and Rack

• Allow the pan and rack to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wash with hot, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
• Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing.

5.2 Roaster Body

• Ensure the unit is unplugged and completely cool.
• Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
• Never immerse the roaster body in water or any other liquid.

5.3 Storage

Store the cleaned and dried roaster oven in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your roaster oven, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

• Roaster not heating: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the temperature knob is set to a desired temperature (not 'OFF').
• Food not cooking evenly: Ensure the lid is properly seated. For larger items, consider rotating the food halfway through cooking. Verify the temperature setting is appropriate for the recipe.
• Excessive smoke during first use: A small amount of smoke or odor during the first use is normal as manufacturing oils burn off. Ensure adequate ventilation. If smoke persists, unplug the unit and contact customer support.
• Lid is difficult to remove: Allow the roaster to cool slightly. The lid may create a vacuum seal when hot.
