This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your product.
2. Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before installation and use.
- Keep children and pets away from the shades during operation.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the motor or solar panel yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
- Ensure the power supply for charging is 1A as recommended.
- Avoid pulling the shade fabric manually, as this may damage the motor mechanism.

5. Installation
Before installation, ensure your window measurements are accurate. The shades can be installed using either an inside mount or an outside mount method.
5.1. Measuring for Installation
- Inside Mount: Window depth should be at least 2.5 inches. Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the window frame, and use the smallest measurement as the shade width. Measure the height at three points (left, middle, right) and use the largest measurement as the height. The shades can be adjusted between 0-72 inches high.
- Outside Mount: Add 4 inches to both the width and height measurements of your window to determine the size of the blinds needed. This helps minimize light gaps.

5.2. Mounting the Brackets
Use a power drill to secure the mounting brackets to your window frame or wall according to your chosen mount type. Ensure the brackets are level and securely fastened.

5.3. Attaching the Shade
Once the brackets are installed, carefully attach the roller shade assembly to the brackets. Ensure it clicks into place securely.
5.4. Solar Panel Installation
The complimentary solar panel can be attached to your window to continuously charge the shades. It is recommended to keep the solar panel plugged into the smart roller shades at all times to ensure sufficient power.

6. Setup
6.1. Remote Control Pairing
Your shades come with a remote control. Follow the instructions provided with the remote to pair it with your shades. If you have multiple shades, a 15-channel remote (available separately from DONGFXK) can control up to 15 shades simultaneously.

6.2. Smart Control (Optional)
For voice and app control, a smart bridge hub (available separately from DONGFXK) is required. The hub can control up to 30 automatic blackout shades and is compatible with smart home systems like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

7. Operating Instructions
7.1. Basic Remote Functions
Use the remote control to raise, lower, or stop the shades at any desired position. The remote typically has 'Up', 'Down', and 'Stop/Pause' buttons.
7.2. Setting Upper and Lower Limits
The shades can be freely adjusted between 0-72 inches high. Refer to your remote control's specific instructions for setting custom upper and lower stop limits for your shades. This allows the shades to automatically stop at your preferred open and closed positions.
8. Maintenance
8.1. Cleaning
The shade fabric is made of polyester and should be spot cleaned only. Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap and water to gently clean any soiled areas. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
8.2. Wrinkle Removal
Due to the unique properties of the fabric, wrinkles may form during transportation. To remove wrinkles, you can gently use an iron for one second upon receiving the blinds, or allow them to hang for about a week, and the wrinkles should naturally smooth out.

8.3. Charging
The shades are primarily charged via the solar panel. If the solar panel is not providing sufficient charge (e.g., during prolonged cloudy periods or if the window is too high for optimal sun exposure), you can also charge the shades using an external power supply with a 1A charger.
9. Troubleshooting
- Shade not responding to remote: Check if the remote batteries are depleted. Ensure the remote is paired correctly with the shade.
- Shade not moving smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the window frame or along the shade's path. Ensure the mounting brackets are installed correctly and the shade is level.
- Shade not charging: Verify the solar panel is correctly connected and exposed to sufficient sunlight. If using an external charger, ensure it is a 1A charger and properly connected.
- Light gaps with inside mount: This is normal for inside mounts. For full blackout coverage, consider an outside mount or additional light-blocking solutions.
