3. Setup Guide

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Power On/Off

Slide the power switch located on the top edge of the keyboard to the 'ON' position to power on the device. Slide it to 'OFF' when not in use to conserve battery life.

3.3 Connecting to Devices (Dual Mode)

The keyboard supports connection to up to three devices: one via 2.4GHz USB receiver and two via Bluetooth.

2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Take out the USB Nano Receiver from the battery compartment.
  2. Plug the USB Nano Receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Press the '2.4G' key on the keyboard. The red indicator light will illuminate, indicating a successful connection.

Bluetooth Connection (BT1 / BT2)

  1. Press and hold the 'BT1' or 'BT2' key for 3-5 seconds until the corresponding indicator light (green for BT1, blue for BT2) starts flashing rapidly. This indicates the keyboard is in pairing mode.
  2. On your device (PC, Mac, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Select 'UBOTIE Keyboard' from the list of available devices.
  4. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid, confirming the connection.

3.4 Switching Between Connected Devices

To switch between connected devices, simply press the corresponding connection key: '2.4G', 'BT1', or 'BT2'. The keyboard will automatically connect to the last paired device on that channel.

4.2 Function Keys (Fn)

The keyboard features multimedia and shortcut keys accessible by pressing the 'Fn' key in combination with the F1-F12 keys. Refer to the keycap legends for specific functions such as volume control, media playback, and system shortcuts.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the keyboard surface. For deeper cleaning, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the key switches or internal components.
  • Battery Care: If the keyboard will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Replace batteries when performance degrades.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Keyboard Not Responding

  • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  • Check battery levels and replace if necessary.
  • For 2.4GHz connection, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port and the keyboard is set to 2.4G mode.
  • For Bluetooth connection, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is correctly paired to the selected BT channel (BT1 or BT2). Try re-pairing if issues persist.

6.2 Intermittent Connection

  • Move the keyboard closer to your device to reduce interference.
