1.2 Water Tank Filling
The xTool P2 requires a specific mixture of antifreeze and purified water for its cooling system, especially in colder environments. Refer to the table below for the correct composition based on your region's annual lowest temperature.
To fill the tank: Open the rear cover of the machine. Press down and rotate the cap counterclockwise to open the water tank. Use the provided funnel to pour the recommended amount of antifreeze and purified water into the tank.

1.3 Smoke Exhaust Pipe Installation
Proper ventilation is crucial for safe operation. Install the smoke exhaust pipe to the designated port on the machine. Ensure the other end of the pipe is placed in the open air or connected to an appropriate air purifier system.

1.4 Power Connection and Software Setup
Connect the machine to a power supply. Reset the emergency stop switch by twisting it clockwise until it pops out. Turn on the machine using the main power switch. Download and install the XCS (xTool Creative Space) software from the official xTool website. Connect your xTool P2 to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi within the XCS software.

1.5 Optical Path Calibration
For optimal performance, calibrate the optical path. Remove the sliding cover plate. Use the XCS software to move the laser module to the side, close to the button on the machine. Stick a piece of masking paper over the light outlet and press it down to form a circle. Close the lid and click "Pulse" in the software. Open the lid and observe where the laser beam passes through the masking paper. If it's not centered, adjust the grub screw on the lower right of the reflector holder using a hex key and screwdriver. Repeat the pulse test and adjustment until the laser beam passes through the center of the circle.

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Basic Engraving and Cutting
Place your material inside the machine. Use the XCS software to import your design, set the desired power, speed, and number of passes according to the material type. The xTool P2's 55W CO2 laser can cut 18mm black walnut and 20mm acrylic in one pass, and engrave at 600mm/s.

2.2 Accurate Positioning with Dual HD Cameras
The dual 16MP smart cameras provide accurate positioning, allowing you to preview your design in real-time on the material. This feature is especially useful for engraving tiny objects or utilizing material scraps efficiently.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Antifreeze and Water Management
Regularly check the water level in the cooling system. If the temperature drops below 10°C (50℉), ensure the correct amount of antifreeze is added to prevent freezing and damage to the laser tube. Refer to the water tank filling instructions in Section 1.2 for specific ratios.
3.2 Cleaning
Keep the machine's interior clean to ensure optimal performance. The mirrors are magnetically attached for easy removal and cleaning. Regularly clean the lens and the rear exhaust fan. An improved air assist pump helps reduce smoke stains during operation.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Engraving/Cutting Inconsistencies
If you experience inconsistencies in engraving or cutting, especially with the conveyor system, ensure your material is perfectly flat. Warped materials can cause the laser to skip or result in uneven depth. Always use flat materials for best results.
4.2 Smoke Stains
While the xTool P2 features an improved air assist pump to minimize smoke stains, excessive residue might indicate insufficient ventilation or incorrect power/speed settings for the material. Ensure the exhaust pipe is properly installed and vented, and adjust settings as needed.
4.3 Alignment Issues
If your designs are not aligning correctly, especially with the rotary attachment, re-check the optical path calibration (Section 1.5). For rotary projects, ensure the object is securely fastened and the diameter measurement is accurate in the software.
