Introduction

This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K Monitor (LS27C900PANXZA). Please read these instructions carefully to ensure proper use and to maximize the performance of your device.

Setup

Physical Assembly

Attach the monitor stand to the display panel. Ensure all connections are secure. The monitor is designed for easy assembly, typically involving sliding the display onto the pre-assembled base.

The 4K SlimFit Camera magnetically attaches to the top center of the monitor. It can be tilted up and down to adjust the viewing angle.

Connecting the Monitor

Connect your computer or other devices using the available ports on the rear of the monitor. The monitor supports Thunderbolt 4, Mini DisplayPort, and USB-C connections.

Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the monitor and a power outlet.

Features Overview

5K Resolution

The monitor features a 5K (5120x2880) resolution, offering more pixels than 4K for enhanced detail and clarity. It provides 218 PPI and 99% DCI-P3 color saturation, with factory-calibrated color accuracy (ΔE < 2) for true color representation.

Matte Display

The Matte Display technology significantly reduces light reflections, improving visibility in various lighting conditions. Intelligent Eye Care features automatically adjust brightness, reduce blue light, and eliminate screen flickering to minimize eye strain.

Smart Calibration

Utilize the Smart Calibration feature with a compatible smartphone to customize screen settings. You can select between DCI-P3 or sRGB color spaces and adjust preferences for color temperature, luminance, and gamma without requiring additional tools.

4K SlimFit Camera

The integrated 4K SlimFit Camera provides clear video conferencing. Its magnetic attachment allows for easy removal and adjustment.

Slim Metal Design & Ergonomics

The monitor features a slim metal design and offers ergonomic adjustments including height, tilt, and pivot (90 degrees for portrait viewing). It is also VESA compatible for alternative mounting options.

Apple AirPlay

The monitor supports Apple AirPlay, allowing you to mirror or extend your screen wirelessly from compatible Apple devices (iOS 12.3+ or macOS 10.14.5+).

Smart TV Apps & Gaming Hub

Access a variety of Smart TV applications for streaming content and the Samsung Gaming Hub for cloud gaming, without needing a separate PC or console. An internet connection and a Samsung Account may be required for full functionality.

Operating the Monitor

Basic Navigation

Use the included remote control to navigate the monitor's interface, access Smart TV apps, and adjust settings. The remote features quick access buttons for popular streaming services.

PC Connectivity

To switch between connected devices, use the monitor's input selection menu. Ensure your computer is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 or DisplayPort for optimal performance. Only Mac computers with Apple Silicon introduced after 2020 are supported for Thunderbolt 4 & DP Port functionality.

Smart Features

Access Smart TV apps and the Gaming Hub directly from the monitor's home screen. A Samsung Account and internet connection are required for these features. App availability may vary by region, and some content may require separate subscriptions.

Maintenance

To clean the monitor screen, gently wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For the monitor's exterior, use a slightly damp cloth. Ensure the monitor is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

Troubleshooting

• Monitor Not Waking from Sleep: If the monitor does not wake up from sleep mode when connected to a PC, try unplugging and replugging the power cord. Some users report needing to navigate Samsung TV settings to re-establish connection.
• Connectivity Issues with Mac: Some Mac OS 13 devices may have limited compatibility. Ensure your Mac computer has Apple Silicon and was introduced after 2020 for full Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort functionality.
• Smart TV Interface: The monitor includes a Smart TV interface. If you primarily use it as a PC monitor, you may need to navigate through the Smart TV menus to select the correct input source.
• Remote Control Interference: The monitor's remote may inadvertently control other Samsung devices if they are in close proximity.
• Image Quality: Color accuracy is factory-calibrated in sRGB. For specific color needs, use the Smart Calibration feature with a compatible smartphone.
