Important Safety Instructions

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be observed, including the following:

• Read all instructions before using your vacuum cleaner.
• Always turn off the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the hose, accessories, or power cord.
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to SharkNinja Operating LLC for examination, repair, or adjustment.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not use without dust cup and/or filters in place.

Assembly and Setup

Follow these steps to assemble your Shark UV900 vacuum cleaner:

1. Insert the wand into the floor nozzle until it clicks securely into place.
2. Slide the Lift-Away pod onto the wand.
3. Insert the handle into the top of the wand until it clicks securely into place.
4. Connect the hose to the back of the pod by pressing it in until it clicks.
5. Store accessories on the onboard posts.
6. Insert the Odor Neutralizer Cartridge into its designated slot on the floor nozzle. Turn the dial to adjust the odor intensity.

Operating Instructions

Upright Mode

For general floor cleaning, use the vacuum in its upright configuration. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Step on the floor nozzle and tilt the handle back to engage the brushrolls. The DuoClean PowerFins provide continuous cleaning contact with carpets and hard floors.

Lift-Away Mode

The Lift-Away feature allows you to detach the pod from the nozzle for portable cleaning of stairs, upholstery, and hard-to-reach areas.

1. Press the Lift-Away button on the side of the pod to detach it from the floor nozzle.
2. You can then carry the pod with one hand and use the hose with an attachment for cleaning.
3. For extended reach, detach the wand from the pod by pressing the Wand Release button.
4. Attach desired accessories directly to the handle or the end of the wand.

Odor Neutralizer Technology

The Odor Neutralizer Technology helps guard against bad odors inside your vacuum, providing a fresh-smelling home. Adjust the intensity dial on the Odor Neutralizer Cartridge to control the fragrance level.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance of your Shark UV900 vacuum.

Emptying the Dust Cup

Empty the dust cup after each use or when debris reaches the MAX FILL line.

1. Press the dust cup release latch and lift the dust cup off the pod.
2. Hold the dust cup over a trash bin and press the bottom release latch to open the bottom of the dust cup.
3. Tap gently to remove debris. Close the bottom lid until it clicks.
4. If necessary, press the top release latch to access the filter screen and remove any built-up debris.

Cleaning Filters

Rinse filters with cold water only. Allow all filters to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstalling them to prevent liquid from being drawn into electric parts.

• Pre-Motor Filters (Foam & Felt): Located under the dust cup. Rinse every 3 months.
• Post-Motor HEPA Filter: Located at the base of the vacuum. Rinse once a year.

Cleaning Brushrolls

The DuoClean PowerFins are designed to be self-cleaning, minimizing hair wrap. However, periodically check the brushrolls for any debris or blockages. If any hair or debris is wrapped around the brushroll, carefully cut it away with scissors and remove.
