  • Tempered Glass Lid: Allows monitoring of cooking progress without releasing heat.
  • Control Dial: Used to select cooking settings (OFF, KEEP WARM, LOW, HIGH).
  • Cool-Touch Handles: Integrated handles on the heating base for safe handling.

Before First Use

  1. Carefully unpack the slow cooker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wash the removable ceramic pot and tempered glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water.
  4. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly and use.

Setup

  1. Place the heating base on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or cabinets to allow for proper ventilation.
  2. Insert the clean, dry ceramic pot into the heating base.
  3. Place the tempered glass lid onto the ceramic pot.
  4. Ensure the control dial is in the "OFF" position before plugging the unit into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Courant Small Slow Cooker offers three heat settings for versatile meal preparation.

Cooking Settings:

  • OFF: Turns the appliance off.
  • KEEP WARM: Maintains food at a serving temperature after cooking. This setting is not for cooking raw food.
  • LOW: Ideal for slow cooking over a longer period, typically 6-8 hours.
  • HIGH: Cooks food faster, typically 3-4 hours. This setting is comparable to a conventional oven's low setting.

Cooking Process:

  1. Prepare your ingredients and place them into the ceramic pot. Do not overfill the pot; leave at least 1 inch of space from the rim.
  2. Place the lid securely on the ceramic pot.
  3. Plug the slow cooker into a 120V AC outlet.
  4. Turn the control dial to your desired setting: LOW or HIGH. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Cook for the recommended time for your recipe. Avoid lifting the lid frequently, as this releases heat and extends cooking time.
  6. Once cooking is complete, you may switch the dial to "KEEP WARM" if you wish to hold the food at a serving temperature.
  7. When finished, turn the dial to "OFF" and unplug the slow cooker from the outlet.

Note: Cooking times may vary based on ingredients, quantity, and desired doneness. Always ensure food is cooked to a safe internal temperature.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your slow cooker.

  1. Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Ceramic Pot and Glass Lid: These parts are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. For stubborn food residue, soak the pot in warm water before cleaning. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the non-stick surface.
  3. Heating Base: Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
  4. Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before storing.

Storage:

Store the slow cooker in a clean, dry place. You can store the ceramic pot and lid inside the heating base for compact storage.
