The RuoShui VICTOR 05+ Loop Calibrator is a high-precision handheld instrument designed for measuring and simulating DC current and DC voltage. 2. Components and Controls

Familiarize yourself with the various components and controls of the calibrator for effective operation.

  • LCD Display Area: Shows measured values, output settings, and unit information.
  • Power Switch Button: Turns the device on or off.
  • Output/Input Toggle Key: Switches between output and input modes.
  • Unit Selection Key: Changes the display unit (e.g., mA, mA%).
  • Single Step/Auto Switch Key: Toggles between manual step and auto step/ramp functions.
  • 25% / 100% / Start Keys: Used for quick output adjustments and initiating auto ramp.
  • Output Bit Selection Key: Selects which digit to adjust for output value setting.
  • Output Value Setting Key: Adjusts the numerical value of the output.

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The calibrator operates on AA batteries. Ensure correct polarity during installation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the device.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, observing the polarity markings (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

3.2. Connecting Test Leads

Connect the appropriate test leads to the input/output terminals based on your measurement or simulation requirements.

  • For current measurement or output, connect leads to the 'mA' terminals.
  • For voltage measurement, connect leads to the 'V' and 'COM' terminals.
  • For loop power supply, use the '+LOOP' and '-mA' terminals.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off

Press the green power button to turn the calibrator on. Press and hold the same button to turn it off.

4.2. Measurement Mode (Input)

To measure an external signal:

  1. Ensure the calibrator is in input mode by pressing the OUTPUT/INPUT toggle key. The display will indicate "INPUT".
  2. Connect the signal source to the appropriate input terminals (e.g., 'V' and 'COM' for voltage, 'mA' for current).
  3. Read the measured value on the LCD display.

4.3. Output Mode (Simulation)

To generate a signal:

  1. Ensure the calibrator is in output mode by pressing the OUTPUT/INPUT toggle key. The display will indicate "OUTPUT".
  2. Connect the device under test to the 'OUTPUT' terminals.
  3. Use the arrow keys and output bit selection key to set the desired output value.
  4. Press the UNIT key to switch between mA and mA% display if needed.
  5. Utilize the STEP/AUTO, 25%, 100%, and START keys for quick adjustments or auto ramp generation.

4.4. 24V Loop Power Supply

The calibrator can provide a 24V loop power supply while simultaneously measuring current.

  1. Connect the loop circuit to the '+LOOP' and '-mA' terminals.
  2. The calibrator will supply 24V and display the measured current.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

Clean the calibrator with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is powered off before cleaning.

5.2. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the calibrator in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The included protective case and pen tray can be used for organized storage.

5.3. Calibration

The calibrator features built-in self-tests and closed-case calibration. For professional calibration or service, contact authorized service centers. Do not attempt internal adjustments.
