The LIFEHOOD Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is designed for accurate measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate in adults using the oscillometric method. It is intended for home use.

Setup

1. Installing Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the monitor.
  2. Insert the four AAA batteries according to the polarity indicators (+ and -) inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Connecting the Cuff

  1. Locate the air tube connector on the cuff.
  2. Insert the air tube connector firmly into the air jack on the side of the blood pressure monitor unit.

3. Setting Date and Time (if applicable)

Refer to the "Operating" section for detailed instructions on setting the date and time, which ensures accurate record-keeping for your measurements.

Operating Instructions

1. Before Measurement

  • Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes before measurement.
  • Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
  • Sit in a comfortable position with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
  • Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level.

2. Applying the Arm Cuff

  1. Slide your left arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
  2. Position the cuff so the bottom edge is approximately 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 inches) above your elbow joint.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The index line should be within the range indicated on the cuff.

3. Taking a Measurement

  1. Press the "START/STOP" button. The cuff will automatically inflate.
  2. Remain still and silent during the measurement. Do not talk or move your arm.
  3. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the LCD.
  4. The measurement will automatically be stored in the memory.
  5. Press the "START/STOP" button again to turn off the monitor, or it will automatically shut off after 1 minute of inactivity.

4. Understanding Display Symbols

5. Recalling Memory Readings

To view previous measurements, press the "M" (Memory) button. Each press will cycle through the stored readings for the current user. The monitor supports two users, each with 60 memory slots.

6. Switching Users

To switch between User 1 and User 2, press the "S" (Set) button when the monitor is off. The user icon will change, indicating the active user profile.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Monitor and Cuff

  • Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth.
  • If necessary, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Do not wash the cuff.

Storage

  • Store the device in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
